VN - Ren'Py - Being a DIK [v0.10.1] [DrPinkCake]

Best game of this genre and it's not even close. This game managed not only to grasp my heart but also my lower half like no other game. The art design Is top tier and while I do have some heavy bias for red heads ( and dammit Sage is freaking perfect) this game also managed to makee love so many characters and the bromance between the MC and his boys is not to be overlooked

The best game on this site, this guy is on another level, he plays on his own league.

One of the best and well made game i have tried and gotten hooked on. Great story that is very in-depth with high's and low's together with lots of fun and sad times. Great renderings and visuals overall. Great gameplay with lots of choices and routes to find and balance. Has gotten me hooked and really looking forward for the updates to continue the story.

The only bug i have gotten is during the timing events where it freezes for a few seconds so i don't get the timing right. Happens like 1 in 10 times for me so no big issue.

One of the best adult game in the market! Rich story and beautiful model graphics make it that 'cherry on top sense' when playing. Really good job creating this peace of art. Adult games industry is on a rise at last. Quality over quantity is for real!

Great story, keeps expanding, and while you can guess some of them before they are revealed, there are also some surprises, so it makes it feel like watching a tv drama rather than playing a game, in a good way.

Love the characters so far, their personalities and background.

Given that it is a story driven game, it's not for you if you are looking for a quick fap, because then you'll miss the point of the whole experience.

And yes there are some similar games with similar settings and story arcs, and some of them are actually good and I liked them as well, but so far Being a DIK is the best out of all of them.

And I like the "free roam", but I think it would be better to have more "freedom" during it, as in where we can travel a little more and interact with more characters during it.

And it could be a nice touch to have the ability to customize the main character a little, maybe the room.

Having the ability to get on the good side of other characters other than just the text/conversation choices we make could be nice as well, maybe there could be an app where we can buy/send gifts for them, comments made on rooster affecting your relationship with them, etc.

Also love the idea of social media apps, such as rooster and swyper, but as for swyper, maybe more content can be add for that, more characters to interact with on the app and then meeting them, would make the game more fun and more interactive.

I really do enjoy this game, and that's why I'd love to see it become bigger and more interactive, having more ways to interact with characters, adding more characters, customization options, a more interactive world, and such.

With all that said, it is an excellent game with great story and great characters. And yes, people who like the game such as myself, will always come up with more stuff that can be added to it, and of course it would be nice to see those addition, as everybody wants to see something they enjoy to become better, but I also have to say that the developers have done a great job so far and hope they keep up the good work.

So I slept on this game for some time now. I thought to myself well this is some more boring vanilla sex stuff again. WRONG! I ended up playing it mainly for the story itself.

This game is amazing! I loved the story of it and the main character was pretty cool. All the characters were nice looking and it threw a bit of a curveball (actually multiple lol) at me where I was legitimately shocked. Best girl to me is Jill so far....but that could change depending on Episode 8. Keep up the good work PinkCake! I'll be trying your other game Acting Lessons as well. Also whoever is writing Derek lines lol....he's pretty much the deadpool of the game!

Woah... Just... Woah.

I have no shame in saying I'm a "skipper". Most lewd games I find here in F95 zone I skip most of the story and go to the lewd scenes as fast as possible. I usually have a walkthrough open to guide me through the choices that would lead to seeing most lewd scenes. Why do that and not just watch porn? Well, even if I get glimpses of the stories, the context is usually better than in porn, which usually have very shitty story. Also, I like a good build-up, which most lewd games have. But playing Being a DIK, I got to Chapter 5 skipping content and clicking on the choices that the walkthrough mod suggested just to realize that this game actually has a great story which would make lewd scenes much better. So I went back and played it all over again, but this time properly.

This is, without a single doubt, the best story in a lewd game I've seen. I've played many games that the story seemed good at first just to become completely skippable, while others started outright bad. I hate some characters, love some others, take pity on a couple of them and cheer for others. The mystery bits made me intrigued and the delivery for them was fantastic. Sure, a couple were pretty obvious , but others were really unexpected, like . And I'm still .

Yeah, story is amazing, better than some non-lewd games. But that's not just it. Gameplay has AWESOME minigames and enough variety that doesn't make it boring for a second. You got your usual choices in standard VNs, but Free Roam events with all their collectibles are awesome to play through. And did I mention the minigames? I take pity on those who play with them off because they are very cool.

And then, what I usually regard as the most important thing in a lewd game: art and animations. Episode 1 has 3.5/5 art with 3/5 animation. But the dev improves a lot during the development of the game and Episode 7 easily has 5/5 art with 5/5 animation. As you can see, it got to Excellent levels. It can still be improved but it is already fantastic.

Phew... That was certainly the longest review I've written here. But I think this one deserves it. I'm REALLY looking forward for further releases. Congratulations, DPC, really. And thank you for such and incredible game.

Dope animations, nice story, and the DIK and CHIK system is integrated into the characters and story really well. only issue for me is the navigation system, i think it would be better if the arrows pointing where you can go is constantly highlited instead of you having to hover over it, and make the more variations of the arrows, so players can actually distinguish where the mc is looking and what motion hes doing. 9.5/10

Easily one of the best games I've played. Packed with humor, heart, and classy lewd scenes there is TONS of good content. Without a players guide it would be challenging to achieve certain scenes and I appreciate that. It gives you the opportunity to play multiple saves and see the story develop from different angles. I'm excited to see what's next.

For the first time in my life, I have experienced such a range of emotions from playing h-game. I cried, I laughed, I was staring into the void, I was staring into myself.
- Finally characters feels like characters. Each of them have their own experience, joys and woes.
- Renders are good, decorations are good, nothing to add
- Other thing that deserves appreciation is DrPinkCake's music rotation, It totally sets mood for scenes and sets em fine.
- Easygoing college setting got me too, something you probably experience once in a lifetime.
- Humor and writing are easily understood for a non-native English speaker. Given that I also didn't study my english for a five years It's surprisingly how DPC bring layered plot in such manner.
So, in general "Being a DIK" is a great game, that i can highly recommend even to those fellas who dont like Daz3d games, trust me, It's 100% worth it.

Great story. Actually has some depth and your choices actually have some impact. Although not yet finished, it has been one of the most enjoyable of its kind so far for me. Art and animations also is pretty good, but not always exceptional. Didn't play the minigames, which can luckily easily be disabled so that is another big plus. Recommend playing with a walkthrough mod as the effect of your choices are not always as obvious.

The best VN I ever played. Great story, great animation, great character development. Can't wait to feel the complete experience and i'm really looking forward to next developer installments. A 10/10 game/VN.

I have mixed feelings...

But dont understood me wrong, its not about the game itself. Its game from Dr PinkCake - its quality is out of the question. I had very high expectations after Acting Lessons and it surpassed them on every field. Renders are amazing, music is perfectly fit, story is top-notch and characters - as in the previous game they are biggest asset. Every single one of them feels alive and is easy to like.
At the moment of writing this words there are 7 episodes out. Since episode 1 i was fighting myself to not play this game as i hate to wait for updates/new episodes.

And i lost.

I played it and i instantly loved it. And thats the reason of my mixed feelings - as i said its not about game itself - its about me playing it now. I hate to wait and it looks like i will wait a looot. But its kinda good. The game gonna be huge and i trust Dr PinkCake - he will finish it and it will be the best Adult VN out there (of course until he will make next game).

So for short:
- great graphic
- great music
- great story
- great characters
- a LOT of choices and branches
- very good humour
- minigames can be entertaining (but i you dont like them, you can switch them off)
Or even shorter - just a great fucking Game.

so yeah i don't know how to start this but i have been thinking about this game for so long because its one of the biggest adult games here and on steam so i bought it and it truly is amazing.

if a game can make you stop jerkl of just to sympathize with the characters or just make you stop playing the game because you want to listen to the music, or actually read everything because the story is really good then its a masterpiece of a game and you should buy it just support the dev!!

I've been obsessing over this game for months now so it's high time I posted my review.

It's mostly subjective, but in my view BaDIK stands alone due to the following combination:

• Nice renders with very emotive expressions
• Excellent sound track selection
• Laugh-out-loud humor
• Lots of enjoyable nuance and attention to subtle details
• Memorable and consistent characters - Characters that don't just exist for the mc - they have their own agency
• Flowing & polished dialogue
• Really impressive kissing animation
• Fun setting
• Lots of drama
• Obsessed fan base

The only thing it lacks is a clear direction, but he's just a young guy in college, he's there to learn, fuck, and get into trouble; not much other direction is required I guess.

Of course there are plenty of other good games, but they just exist to fill in the gap between BaDIK episodes.

After playing Acting Lessons, I had high expectations for DrPinkCake's next game. But when I read the premise I was thinking, "Oh great, just another game where the MC parties and tries to bang a bunch of girls at college...like that hasn't been done before in an adult game."

It does start out in that manner...fairly predictably....drunken shenanigans abound. This is why I waited to write a review. I was skeptical that DrPinkCake could match my expectations after Acting Lessons but I wanted to give it time. I'm very happy I gave this story more time to develop before writing my review.

MC is an only child in a family of modest means. His mother died during childbirth. He has a good relationship with his father (a good man and father ). Like most kids starting college, he goes a bit crazy his first time living away from home especially when he's pledging the DIK fraternity going through their Hell Week. Overall, I was pretty meh about the beginning despite the hot scenes and excellent visuals. I wasn't feeling the story as there wasn't much there.

We only get a glimpse of the nature of the characters during Hell Week...which MC predictably spends drunk, engaging in pranks, and getting laid. But once Hell Week is over and he's welcomed into the fraternity, his character and the others are more fully revealed.

This is when the story and the characters really begin to shine. The characters feel like real people...with emotions, flaws, hopes and dreams. The protagonists and antagonists are more fully-developed. Deeper internal struggles and external conflicts are revealed. The story becomes something much more engaging and consequential. We see character development, not just from the MC (who is revealed to be much more than the kid just pledging a frat), but all the characters. Adversity helps him and the other characters not only reveal their true character to the viewer, but find their true selves.

By the end of the 7th chapter, you're fully invested in the story and the characters...and the end of the 7th chapter packs an emotional punch (though not a dark punch like Acting Lessons). Ultimately, it becomes much, much more than a college party/fuckfest.

The renders are among the best out there and the animations are top notch. The female characters are varied and beautiful (a little BTS, but I'm not going to complain about it).

When I started playing this game I was doubtful that DrPinkCake could match the masterpiece that is Acting Lessons. A game with a great story, characters, and visuals. Now I have no doubt that Being a DIK can match or exceed those expectations.

I can count on one hand the authors of adult games that can tell a story with outstanding visuals and fully-realized characters with heart. DrPinkCake is one of them.

Its a great game that simply continues to get better. Good girls, good humour, good drama, and of course, good lewd scenes. What more can you ask more? There might be some hiccups in the writing, but for someone who's only done one game prior to this, its an A effort and it shows mightily.
