It's bordering on troubling that DPC just can't seem to stop themselves from making everything feel dark, and hopeless, and depressing. This game could easily be much lighter in tone but with just enough drama and intrigue to keep you going, basically how it felt through the first 5 episodes, but this episode has taken a sharp heel turn in a few directions that are taking that feeling away and rather than being excited for each new update, it instead fills you with an impending sense of dread because about what he's going to ruin next.
I feel like I've lost all optimism for anything to go the way I or anybody else might hope it will go because in an episode called "Damage Control" almost nothing was controlled, more heavy stuff was introduced without addressing what's come before, it wasted so much time with the pointless and bloated DnG filler, and it's taking choices away from us that really don't feel like they should be taken away. So it's actually caused more damage and is taking away a lot of control from the player.
I would like nothing more than for DPC to turn this around, to make us think it's all doom and gloom for a while, but then lighten up towards the end, but I'm thinking that either they're not capable of doing that or simply don't want to, and both those possibilities suck.
Welcome to the same conclusions I have had all along. If he can’t even do a college rom-com without turning dark and tragic, then I am thinking he can’t do anything without resorting to the darkness he seems to need for some reason.
It will definitely cause a lot of the fans heartburn if he pulls an Acting Lesson on us all.
Bat Shit Crazy prediction time-
1- Jill will be removed as a love interest by being Lynette’s sister, who in fact left Neil rather than dying and Neil lied.
2- Lynette was Bella’s original best friend, but then had to leave or something along those lines, thus asking Bella to watch out for her baby sister.
3- Lynette was in a long term affair with James which was outed a few years ago. Lynette left her diaries and other things with Bella as did James and all that heart wrenching stuff is inside the locked room
4- the MC will finally get through all the walls with Bella, and then enjoy romance for a single night. James will walk in and find them together, and storm out. Bella will follow trying to explain and leave the MC alone and confused in her bed. If he has been good, she will ultimately stay with him. If he’s been a manwhore, then she takes James back.
5-Maya and Josy will be given a choice to give up on college and go far away together, with Josy’s father being supportive, they will ask the MC to give up on his college dream and go with them, or stay and they leave. This has a couple of offshoots. Maya leaving and no one go with her or something “bad” happens to Maya and or Josy.
6-Sage turns into a very manic obsessive possessive person if she discovers the whoring of the MC. If he has been good, she will keep him locked up tight. A happy-ish ending I suppose.
7- Quinn at a minimum, possibly Riona, gets murdered by the drug dealers, and the MC will be saved by Quinn whose last act is selfless and loving as she dies instead.
8- Jade gets knocked up by the MC and decides to pay his way through college as her baby daddy. Once done with that, she divorces Stephen, takes him to the cleaners, cuts off Tybalt and our MC has a hot MILF for life.
9- Nicole discovers she is HIV positive from her VIP dances. Hopefully before saddling the MC with raising her kids.
10- Neil, overcome with grief over how his lies have impacted the MC, falls off the top of his latest construction project.
11- Cathy, after leaving B&R, opens a high price escort agency, and offers the MC a job.
sounds crazy I know. But I bet somewhere in there is some amusing fun for some of you, and possibly a grain of truth for the future.
Peace
