I've started playing around with it in my playthroughs. The best results have come form carefully min-maxing points spent to just finish off rooms. I usually buy power tools and max out dumpster immediately (not sure if dumpster is worth it, though). That levels up the DIKs quickly, getting you to the point they have enough skills to take the $$ or $$$ work tasks when they pop up at the end of the episode.
Unfortunately, it's a lot of busywork tracking the exact values of each room and having to allocate all those skill points perfectly through the slightly laggy interface. And ultimately we won't know the best strategy until we see how the mini-game ends.

Man, the same thing happened to me when I played with Joiplay. I'm almost sure that it is Joiplay's fault because I played with two different compressed versions and the same thing happens.

Could be something of a honey trap, yes, but could also depend on who you do. For example, if we consider that such a thing might kick in from the end of Ep 4 when becoming "something more", I don't think they'll find out about Riona, Camila, Lily, Nora, Nicole, Sandy, or even Bella, but they might find out about Sage depending on how far it goes, and Jill is the one that they're most likely to find out about given that she's becoming friends with Josy.
Therefore, he's probably safe with side girls, but not with at least 2 of the main girls, particularly if it starts getting serious with both.

Hmm, I hadn't considered a DIK being blackmailed into helping with the downfall of the fraternity. Maybe Burke has a video of Nick slurping on Chad or Vinny. I can see Nick being involved, but I have a hard time picturing him to be the ultimate criminal mastermind.Burke is still in the lead as the mastermind as far as I'm concerned. We'll see what happens in ep. 7 though. Side note about Burke. I think he will save the Jade/MC video for blackmail purposes if and when he needs it. He's not going to release it immediately. This is chess not checkers. Burke may even be into watching Jade and MC while he is in the room, so he may force the two of them to perform. And he's probably got a photo or video of Bella and MC getting it on, so Bella fans expect some blackmail of her coming soon.
