I have a feeling you "throuple" guys aren't going to be happy with how the Josy/Maya/MC situation plays out. I'm getting deja vu from the AL forums when everyone was screaming throuple for the Megan and Melissa path and we all know how that turned out.
I would already like the "Throuple". But I have my priorities. Josy/Maya, Josy, Maya, Sage, Quinn.

I kept my hands off Al after reading several comments here in the thread.

A wedding certificate does not guarantee love.

And why should the relationship be doomed to fail? Because the plot demands it. Have you read the script? Then tell us all how it ends!

Was the beginning of the relationship bumpy?
Yes, it was, I admit it.

But if you have chosen the Maya/Josy path as MC, you should notice that the relationship grows. There is no jealousy between the three. Josy even helps Maya deal with the MC's penis. And at the end of the threesome scene they want it again and again, just not publicly.
It's doomed to fail because there is at least 8 episodes remaining. More story is yet to be told than is already told.

That's why Maya and Josy will break up.

They can very well get back together, but they won't stay together for this entire story.

The daddy drama can't go on much longer, and every other problem the MC is facing is financial so he can't be dealing with everybodies money problem.

this is all irrelevant really because josy is going to die as per the dungeons and dragons foreshadowing. she's a non-character without a story and ready for the fire. a better supposition is that quinn is willing to kill maya in exchange for $5000.
I think you have misinterpreted DnG.

I assume that DPC only wanted to show which characters still have their personal problems.

And Josy doesn't have a personal problem anymore, that her father has reconciled with her and the tuition fees are secured. That's why DPC let Josy die in all 5 endings of DnG.

You don't turn 18 going into your last year of high school.

And the MC should have been turning 18 not 19. But I just assume Neil was an idiot and put him in a year later.

Either way Maya and Josy don't act like they were in a relationship for 14 months, an entire summer apart because they couldn't hop on a train is kind of pathetic.
In the real world, yes, 18 is the age most American teens will be when they finish high school, but this is the BaDIK world where the rules are often different. But even in the real world, not every country is the same because it's quite common in many European countries for the high school graduation age to be 18 or 19 because they spend longer in that education system, so perhaps this is another amalgamation of the American and Swedish systems as DPC has said before that this game is sometimes a mix of the two.

Also, Maya's Dad could have been keeping Maya in the house throughout the summer and therefore keeping her from seeing Josy.

they don't give that impression though

I expect a different kind of solidity from a couple that has had a whole year to get to know each other (and attend the same school gives repeated opportunities). Instead we are still here wondering how Maya's father could have prevented the two from communicating in such a hermetic way that they didn't even know if they were together or not anymore
Their relationship was a secretive one, not least of all because of Maya's Dad, so it's difficult to build a really strong relationship when they're so much uncertainty and insecurity surrounding it. We also don't know when Maya's Dad found out, which is something that will hopefully be known at some point.

People assume they've only been apart for the summer, but what if he found out weeks or months before then and pulled Maya out of school? He could have told the school she was unwell and had the school provide material for her to be homeschooled which would still allow her to graduate from that school (as per the picture) because she was still considered one of their students.

Then during the summer he kept her in the home and, from what we know from the game, they were still able to communicate but it would often lead to disagreements and fights between them (Maya makes this clear in Ep 3 when talking to Derek). So really, their relationship was always on shaky ground and it's easy to see how it didn't withstand this pressure from Maya's Dad, and even after Maya got to college, Josy may not have felt like she wanted to see Maya and so that's why Maya didn't hop on a train then to go see her as she sensed this about Josy.

Big difference with AL is that the throuple hadn't started yet, whereas we can be properly in one in this game. In AL, the MC could salvage only one relationship out of 3 potential relationships, here in this game we have 4 potential relationships when you consider M&J as counting as 1, so if this game follows the same logic as AL, then M&J is a relationship that can and should be achievable.

It's doomed to fail because there is at least 8 episodes remaining. More story is yet to be told than is already told.

If M&J aren't also with MC, then it probably is doomed to fail because he seems to be an important pillar in the throuple, like a missing piece of the puzzle, which is why the throuple seems like it might have a better shot at working out.

exactly, that's why it would be very unimpressive of him doing the same thing twice. ;).

the game does not tell us, and since it is an important fact, it should. we cannot invent "exceptional" traumas and abuse

if Maya had been withdrawn from school in one of her outbursts she would have told us (to MC or Josy)

Then, if it was as you say, it would mean that even if in theory they were together for a year and as if they had just got together as claimed by godkingxerxes

the weakness of the couple is obvious, it is a relationship not more solid than that between Josy and Mc who have spoken 3 times in their lives

And that's exactly why you don't understand it. When a person loves another, there is no need for a demand or an invoice in the mail. Because to love means to share and to give and that from the whole heart.
Yes to share not just to take and take and take, because that's all Maya does.

Unless of course hes a jerk. A big meanie.
Well, that's the thing, The Megan Melissa thing didn't happen just because he was a jerk.
I'm not saying Josy and Maya will be double rainbow of epicness, but I seriously doubt that that is doomed to fail no matter what. They probably gonna break, up, there probably be solo path for them , and etc etc, but I do think there will be a path where it could work out. but it's too early to talk or planing about endgame. He just said he is not in rush to finish it, there is still too many thing that can happen, and the journey is often more entertaining than the actualy ending.

Theorycrafting is all about "inventing" based on what's known and what's reasonably possible. Have you seen the number of theories surrounding WandaVision? Just because you haven't seen or been told something about a character or the story doesn't mean that there aren't reasonable possibilities to explain something.

When it comes to money, actually only the MC has ever taken. Except once where he voluntarily paid for Maya's coffee.

In my opinion, Maya has only once done something without the consent of the MC and that also not voluntarily. When the MC was stunned.

Everything else could be determined by the MC himself.

so does everything count? Bella serial killer becomes acceptable? even MC's mother still alive (we haven't seen the tombstone)?

they are 2 important characters, their story is known, they had a flashback (plus another minor one), they talked about it often, maya talked about her relationship with her mother on dozens of occasions. if there was something so important to say she would have said it.

Then again, for the purposes of reasoning, it is insignificant, if they were together for a year but have never been able to date, it is identical to a couple that has been together for a couple of months.

BS no student can finish as the best student of their year skipping months of school! it would be unfair to the other students who make the effort to go to school and dissect frogs which are later sold to french restaurants. that is the real scam to fund education frogs for french restaurants...

on graduation from the picture Maya and the father already had problems but apart from that i see no reasons for her father to take her out of school!

probably something like this would be the father found out (or Tommy told him as in my theory) told her to cut it out she caved in and kept it secret and only on the end of the year was she caught trading messages or phone calls with Josy! You know parents can check on their kids phones so i assume the conduit was Derek`s phone just like in jail where everyone pays 50$ for 1 nibute phone calls from the duty guard (the real scam on how jails are funded)!

so she could only communicate with Josy again after the father returned her phone when she went to college probably after setting up the loan bullshit, does not mean he did not cloned the phone card and is monitoring her sms (or even calls but that is harder to set up...) actually ... that makes perfect sense for her father to control her by having her phone cloned and react in accordance, since they live together they do not exchange messages except when Josy calls or sends her a message after she runs away from the HOT party! fucking hell ... we´re on to something here gentleman! perhaps is not Derek`s fault afterall!
