It seems like there're lots of Sage fans in the community (myself included) but not many comments about her, which I take to be both a good and a bad thing; good because it just shows that her character isn't very problematic, and people are mostly fine with it; bad because I wanna talk about Sage, man. Like, it would be nice to discuss why Sage is our favourite girl out of all the choices in the game.

I've streamed BaD gameplay for a friend on Discord once before and showed them Sage, and after that the both of us ere just lamenting about we wished we could get a girlfriend like her IRL, so that was pretty fun!
My favorite thing about Sage, besides the red hair, is the dialogue. In the first five episodes her dialogue with the MC was just the best I had seen in any game to this point.* I guess it's fitting that the last Sage scene in this period was the guitar lesson in the HOT's backyard, which I think is the best scene in the game.

Unfortunately, after ep 5 this all seemed to change. The post break up rain scene, in the backyard of all fucking places, was disappointing to say the least. Previously in the game the MC had always been able to find a way to be there for her, to say the things that made her feel better. He certainly would have never delivered some of the uninspired shit that he spout's in that scene. And the 'rebound guy' scene in ep 7 was just pure cringe.

That said I felt the taking care of Sage when she was sick scene rebounded a little and some of the dialogue in the latter part's of ep 7 were ok, but nothing that was even near the writing level's of 1 thru 5.

The most disappointing thing though is what DPC did with Sage's temper. I thought the way Sage would suddenly get triggered over nothing was a cute quirk. The text exchange the morning after MC calls and wakes her delivered the best Sage line yet "Don't use logic when I'm angry". Also she never stayed angry for long and always felt sorry for it afterward but, it did show that she had a feisty streak, and a little fire. Turning that into this big emotional problem for her was probably DPC's biggest mistake in writing her character IMHO.

*I have to say as an aside that this was before I had played Leap of Faith, Heavy Five, Our Red String, Chasing Sunsets, Oathbreaker, or a half dozen other games I've forgotten about. All of which have better dialogue in general and a much much much better story.

Sage's plot: She want to be fuck
Bella's plot: She want to be fuck
Jill's plot: She want to be fuck
Josy's plot: She want to be fuck
Maya's plot: She want to have a college education.

Maya haters: Maya is inmature and irresponsable
Come on...

Come on.

Maya wants to have homosexual sex, and then she decides she doesn't want to give anything up.

The shitstorm never ends. It will be Quinn vs Maya debates until episode 8 drops. This is what next 5 months of your life will look like. Enjoy your stay! :HideThePain:
There really isn't much of a debate here though.

Quinn is in conversation for best girl against the likes of a Sage or Jade.

Maya is in conversation for worst character against cafeteria lady or the receptionist.

About Jill. Yeah, she totally want it. It's just hystheria. She want it but she is afraid too. It's also her main plot until now. I think she is going to give us more, but not yet.
Come on man. You make it sound like she doesnt want to give some sort of toy. The way the plots works, her main agenda is the money. And when we talk about M-J, we are not talking just of sex, but a long (for the age) relationhip and the right to choose our own sexuality.

I was joking....

but seriously though: Maya has no obstacle to completing her studies, absolutely none.

The only obstacle is having sex with whoever she wants.

Personally If I have to choose between Jill and maya. Maya will be my choice because jill bullshit is from another planet just like bella explaine.

Character wise choices is best choice because virginity takes one shot to be vanished.

I like every character. I don't know. There are fictional characters. I read them in a different way than real people. At some level that's wrong couse you need to put yourself into the story, but in a different level there are just narrative constructions. They work differentely. I can read the story of a criminal, a killer, a rapist or a torturer. And at the end of the story is just a window to a different guy's mind.
Jill is inmature. A 23 years old virgin. But one of my cousin was virgin untill 22. So, was the deal with that? She was unlucky to have a repressive family and no support. And being victim of bullyng. It wasn't her fault. But also the people who bullied her, were reacting to what is going to be a life of easy luxury. Something unfair, where Jill get's the better part. It was their fault but i understand them.
A russian sniper said she couldn't kill anyone in her first battle, until she saw a friend diyng for the enemies bullets. And then she started. Hate is like that. Only when you love someone you start to hate, thoose who make harm. But that hate is never strictly fair, is biased.
Thats how i see it.

Except that Jill is not 23, and she's not repressed. 23 would make her older than Sage. Repressed would imply that she hides her sexual impulses, which, quite evidently she does not. Jill is also not a victim of bullying. That was her sister. Jill is a debutante. A debutante or deb (from French: débutante, "female beginner") is a young woman of aristocratic or upper-class family background who has reached maturity and, as a new adult, comes out into society at a formal "debut" ...

Being helicoptered by your parents is not the same thing as being repressed.

Jill was bullied, at least as a child.

also in the flashback she tells how her mother had to shorten her hair because someone had "ruined" it (I think by cutting off a strand).

Kind hard take your side when it seems you haven't played the last update, Jill was bullied as a child, a fact stated not only by her but also by Bella. EP7 clearly show that in the flashback. Also been 23 doesn't make her older than sage, nobody knows their age the only ones we know for sure are MC (19) and Bella(35, stated by DPC himself on discord) anyone else is speculation. But I see your point
