Amen to that. I don't think it will only cover MC's first year though. I'd be very surprised if that's the case. It's not too late for a quick retcon and make Sage a sophomore.

Yes absolutely, they just started that first year and we are already at ch 7, that's what, 2 weeks since the beginning not more.
There is plenty of time for 20 chapters at least.
And about Sage there will certainly be some action in ch 8 as we will assist to Chad/Troy scene and maybe report this to Sage.
If the MC was alone Sage could say that he's lying about Chad, but there is Josy also.
Random theory : so Sage being from a well to do family would have grown up around Tybalt , hates him and is the one with the Tyballs Rooster account roasting him every chance she gets

I agree with the first point. But I don't see the point why he won't continue the game after MC's 1st year. He has a concrete base for the game and lot of space for more story and also there are still 2 LIs who would be in college with MC. He can include Jill and Sage in the story afterwards too as Jill practically owns the school and Sage is going to deal with Maya's education. There are also backstories of many characters that are not yet introduced. There is also some DIK traditions and special parties we could have missed. I don't think DPC is that naive to do that.
