You did make me think. When you get down to it Zoey does share some unhelpful traits with the MC. On the surface, it seems that they were opposites that attracted, but maybe they spent so much time together that they rubbed off on each other. It isn't explicitly stated that MC was her first or only lover, but it is clear that he was the only one that mattered. But stubbornness is a trait that seems to be tripping up the MC in his other relationships and might be her Achilles heel as well. I tend to like flawed characters more than perfect ones, and this VN is full of some deeply flawed characters. I just find it interesting that there is so much general anxiety and consternation about the addition of Zoey when the truth is that MC has much bigger fish to fry.
