If DPC keeps putting 50-70 people in scenes and doing 27 movements per one animation, then it may actually be 2023 before we see this damn update. This week I worked on static renders and animations. I have now posed 3253 renders for the episode, and about 180 are in the render queue.
I also posed the longest animation in the episode so far; a ~1 min 19 seconds animation consisting of 27 animations. The longest animation in the game so far has been 30 seconds. Episode 9 will breach that minute mark with three animations.
Making these long animations has felt more like working with cutscenes than standard animation work. It's new to me, and I believe this is the next level for Being a DIK in this area. I can't wait to show you everything!
I'm working on the final free roam event at the moment and I will keep pushing on with the art until I need to write some of the remaining scenes.
I have a scene coming up where I will have to pose more characters than I ever did in a scene before. I haven't counted how many characters there are for this scene yet, but probably somewhere between 50-70.
It's going to be exciting and very demanding work, and also feel like it's going super-slow at times to make a single render. But I know how similar renders in this episode already turned out great, so I know these will too, and that the work is worthwhile.

Good news first. DPC completed something on the order of 127 static renders this week, bringing his overall average to ~133 statics per week since the Interlude launched. We got no word on animations, so it's difficult to tell where we stand or verify if his overall average is still roughly 8.4 animations/week since the Interlude. Here are the charts as best we can tell:

Personally, I think it's very unlikely Episode 9 will be released before November. The remaining animation count is high, and when DPC describes the details there are a lot more "very complicated/lengthy animation" anecdotes than there are "knocking out lots of small-but-cool animation" stories. Granted, it's probably cooler to talk about the complex stuff so I accept there's going to be reporting bias, but nonetheless I don't see him averaging the 12+ animations/week (starting last week) that it would take to release before the end of October. So I'm inclined to bet the over.
Either way, let's hope we get some animation numbers next week so we can find our bearings.

always86 is correct (and as you say, is also doing a great job). The render queue is made up of statics that have been posed but are waiting for processor time to render. All completed statics have also been posed, but not all posed statics have been rendered when there's a (non-zero) queue. DPC currently has ~3073 renders completed, which is the usual metric we track.I have now posed 3253 renders for the episode, and about 180 are in the render queue.
I thought about it this way: 3253 are already ready at this moment + 180 more in the queue.
It's hard to say who is right. Either way, you're doing a great job with these graphs.
In theory it's also the most important metric since statics will only be added to the game once they're complete. But I'm sure DPC's animation rigs could chew through the static queue in no time if the animations were finished. So in this case the difference between posed and complete statics is moot compared to the number of complete animations - which is currently unknown.
Apologies for my ignorance, but might I know what game/games these comparisons are coming from? The first and last pairs are not familiar to me.

Carolyn is the name given by this thread to the goth girl who looks nervous during the exam and is seen having a threesome at the dorm party.

I had completely forgotten about Bianca. I basically speed ran Jill's path just to get a save since I had already played the game how I wanted to once before already.
On a side note, I had always wondered who spit roast chick is. Nice to know she is in the game other than that once scene. Maybe more in the future..?
EDIT: And on a COMPLETELY unrelated note; I really have to thank all of you users who take the time to put game recommendations in their comment footers. Seriously, I have found so many great games that way.

Just played all the way through...I really wish there was complete harem route option as most of the LIs are just too good and hard to choose over the others...and now (maybe?) we have another LI (re)entering with Zoey that will cause more to end up having to get turned down.
The thing that I dislike the most is that some of the side girls can kill a main LI path. Such as you having to friendzone Josy/Maya to get a fling with Jade. Especially since there isn't any connection at all between those paths. I could have understood Cathy ending Bella's, except there ended up being 0 reason for her to have removed and then leave that evidence behind. Then she ends up moving anyways.

Bella's route being intercepted like that did feel a bit unusual given how careful Cathy was being about everything, definitely agree that there was no reason left them behind. On top of that, Bella doesn't even care about you going after Jill and is actively encouraging it, so her turn on the Cathy thing seemed a bit forced. Although I suspect it was just to have another way to end her route given how you have to pick someone and end other routes at the end of Chapter 2.
I have not tried to woo Jade while also keeping up with Josy and Maya. My second run, I did not pursue Jade because I wanted to see any different interactions it may have had. Harem endings tend to make individual choices seem to not matter much in the end, and I really, REALLY like this games inclusion of choices having an actual, noticeable impact on future situations.

I had to google Tanaka Hitomi...
Tanaka is the Chef from Chasing sunsets. Just like Carolyn, she comes across as an unobtainable love interest.
Tanaka seems unobtainable because she just very minor character, and on their first (and I think only) interaction, she eviscerates the mc.
Carolyn seems unobtainable because we literally see her fucking other characters. Just like having sex is a death sentence in a Friday the 13th movie, having sex on screen with other characters in BaDIK means the mc won't be getting any of that; examples:
- Derek fucks Wendy: Sorry Wendy fans, the chances of fucking her are (to be ironic) slim!
- Derek fucks Lydia: The mc's won't be dipping his wick into her twat of experience.
- Everybody fucks Arieth: The mc will always be the odd man out...
- Carolyn and the dorm party: She is one of the Vixens (the titular girl group of episode 9), and I believe DPC hinted at a scene between the mc and one of the vixens, so will DPC make an exception?
, and the mc's already eaten Ashley out.But anyway, here's hoping that Carolyn breaks the curse, and the mc fucks her brains out!
The link between Jade and the girls is that the mc stands Jade up to be with them. That's just how the cookie crumbles.
For the longest time, Bella isn't trying to get with the mc and knows Jill has feelings for him so she encourages that. The problem is she does have feeling for him and that complicates things. But once she finds out he's fucking around with Cathy, she realises he's really not the right guy. She also accepts what she's doing to Jill is wrong, and she snaps out of her lust driven infatuation when she breaks up with him over Cathy. If Cathy isn't in the equation, and she stays with him, the hurt she could potentially cause to Jill is about to become serious.

So when MC stops overreacting and finally goes to talk to the two girls, game asks if you want to "Try for something more" which can lead to the throuple if you meet the scale requirements, but by doing so will cause you to miss a secret rendezvous that Jade decided when and where on her own, for that night. She gets pissed when you dont show and speeds off...and then there is no further interactions between Jade and the MC.

I think Bella dumps MC over Cathy because they're the same age. She's reluctant to start a relationship partly because of the age gap, setting MC up with Jill just serves to confirm her own insecurities. However if MC is fucking other women of Bella's age then she sees him as just a player who's not worth the effort. I'm sure if MC on Bella path who also fucked Jade gets found out somehow then that will be a problem too.
You can't pursue the throuple and Jade, you're given a choice in ep 4(?) between meeting Jade for a fuck or helping Maya and Josy. If you choose to fuck Jade then you miss the chance to suggest the throuple possibility. It's like helping Sage when she's sick instead of going on a date with Jill, so much happens on that Jill date that missing it means you can't convince Jill to date you.
