You might be right i might be putting my feelings in to my response but also common sense. Relationships are hard to keep going. Why do you think divorce rates are so high? And you think you can have a third person to add to the mix? Most people not all but most people when entering a relationship have certain goals like marriage or kids or both or not at all. She wants kids but the other doesn't or 1 wants marriage but the other 2 doesn't. It's hard enough with 2 people to come to terms with their wants and needs so a 3rd person will be just that much harder. Sure in a RARE case it is possible to all 3 to have same wants and needs. The odds not favorable to work or you would hear of it more.
Yes, relationships are hard. The good ones succeed because the people in them are compatible and they work on keeping the relationship going. Even if the MC, Maya, and Josy commit and want to go the distance, they will face a lot of challenges from outside the relationship: money concerns, juggling not just one or two but three careers, preferences on where to live, even small differences in approaches to raising children, etc. MC, Maya, and Josy already face an external challenge in the form of Maya's dad. Can they stay together for the long term? Almost certainly not. Imagine them five or ten years in the future. Can they legally be married? Not as a throuple they can't, at least not in the US. And I can think of all kinds of other problems they would face trying to be an official three-person romantic partnership.
But you know, things can change. Hell, there are still lots of people (esp. women) on the planet who don't get to choose their spouse at all or who live in societies where men have lots of wives. In the West, people can choose their partners and marry for love. Gay marriage is legal in most countries, even the US now finally, so maybe MC, Maya, and Josy can be pioneers for a new generation of throuples.
Thankfully, I don't think we have to worry about any of that in BaDIK as I expect DPC will wrap up the game long before we get that far!
