Talking about Bella's locked door, didn't we see the room behind it?
I think I remember a scene with a drunk and/or high MC finding that door unlocked. He opened it and had an allucination seeing James in it, but actually there wasn't anything special in that room.

Do I remember correclty?

if I remember correctly, we see the inside of the room on 2 occasions: when MC spies through the crack under the door which shows us a very dark image which, however, artificially illuminated, shows nothing in particular except 2 boots (so James could actually be standing there in silence....)

Bella doesn't seem the type to ever give up on her kid or not mention them unless there is a very traumatic reason. Which makes me think if that theory is right the kid is dead.

I never thought about Bella's reveal been her child died and marriage broke down over it. That would be far darker and emotionally heavy than I was expecting. Would also make sense why such a withdrawn and taciturn woman has moments where she just breaks down and cries. Also why she still has some loyalty to her husband despite him "leaving", he didn't leave because of her or him been a dick he was likely as broken as her.

Bella having a dead preteen son is very depressing. A mentally ill wife, a broken husband and a dead child? That is certainly more than MC signed up for.

If I were in MC's shoes, I would feel incapable of building anything alongside a woman who has suffered so much in life. I don't believe that anyone can be happy after losing so much.

When was this? Is there a update that I missed ? The last part I have is the Halloween party and Rio getting kidnapped.

It's been a few weeks since I played through but so far I did a Jill and a Bella run through for the halloween party and don't remember seeing this..... or seeing anything about the locked door for that matter, other than the first time MC spent the night when drunk. Looked under the door but was too dark to see anything.

I don't believe that her route will only have a bad ending. Since she is one of the main girls, she will have a happy ending (when she told the MC about her dream of owning a bookstore, it was clear that this will be her happy ending with the MC).

The question is: Until she gets her happy ending with the MC, how much depressing shit will we have to witness?
