I'm somewhere in the middle on this.

I do think there's a fork coming where Josy and Maya split (particularly if you never throupled in chapter 4), but I don't think it's anything to do with whether or not you got the documents.

My guess is that either the documents allow Maya to resolve her loan issues, and something else comes up that does the same job if you failed to get them, or they don't resolve anything and getting them leaves her in much the same situation as not.

And then either way Tremolo has a decision that determines whether or not Maya and Josy break up.

Maybe Maya is still not ready to go public with Josy despite no longer having her father controlling her tuition fees, and it's your choice whether to encourage Josy to be patient, or validate her blowing up about it.

That's my guess too. Maya mentions other peoples views on lesbian relationships a few times. And Josy mentions none of the HOTs would care. Josy just want public affirmation and affection. Though hell, the cause of the breakup could be anything in-game wise. One menial choice you didn't think about changing things later. Or maybe that's me being salty about restarting my Massive DIK Sage run because I didnt confide in Josy so Sage wasnt there and I couldnt get the documents. lol

It will be menial choice either way, since most of this predicated on you telling Derek you still have feelings for one of them. At least he doubled down in S2 and made the MC actually confirm to the LI his feelings(especially Josy), now you also have a lore reason, not just a gameplay one on why that will snowball into a break up.

It will still probably feel like forced nothingburger, like most relationship dramas and twists so far, but as long as we get there, I feel most solo path fans will be happy either way. They just want to be done with it.

My initial prediction about M&J was that they break up when you are not on their path either way and they reconnect for the endgame/epilogue, either by MC intervention, or on their own. Throuple breakup I cannot see it happening, outside of MC cheating. Of all the endings the throuple one I am the most sure of, since DPC promised he will not pull the bait and switch of AL and people will have their fantasy this time around. Now I know he kinda turned into an asshole in later years, but even he wouldn't be as cruel to screw people again.

You should have checked here buddy to save time. It can be done. I got the documents on every path including the ones without Sage (except 1 where I didn't on purpose to see what happens).

You don't think that there will be a player option (if we want to) to break the throuple and stick with one or the other?

They've got more chance of breaking up when you're on the path than off it.
The girls are both into the MC than they are the other and both are now showing signs of jealousy if mc spends more time with the other.

There definitely will be this "DPC said this" is a weak argument.

To be fair even if DPC was to go that way... The thruple is the only path you could ever really get a situation like AL. That is to say, the rest of the main girls have no second girl competing with them where the choice has any meaningful impact.

DPC could quite easily give the player the choice of Josy/Maya or both and still it wouldn't be the AL situation. Making whatever crap DPC said about this true (i actually don't know what he actually said in regards to this as its been thrown around so much in various forms. All with different meanings and interpretations)

Doesn't it happen even if you didn't confide in Josy? That is how I did it, I was in a neutral affinity, chick choices and was in a relationship with Josy. The character was able to steal the documents. I tested this with every love interest, Jill's, Bella's, Sage's, Others and told Josy when I was in J&M path. This allowed me to steal the docs.
