Yes, uncanny. Most of the faces in this game look like they were moulded out of plastic. They don't have wrinkles, or spots, or blemishes... And their facial proportions are totally messed up. There's an obsession in art with making female characters "pretty" that frequently leaves women with facial features that would scare the crap out of us if they belonged to an actual human being. What makes it worse is that it tends to be the same face over and over again (tiny nose, giant eyes and lips). Don't get me wrong, i love this game, but it would be nice to see a more normal looking female models.

Yes, you're right. DAZ models don't have as much detail as models made by professional artists for games. DAZ itself is a pretty weak and slow program, which practically does not develop. DAZ is more interested in selling assets, they make very good money on dazstore, but they are not interested in updating it like Blender does regularly. Jesus, DAZ still doesn't have snapping which kills me.
You can make models better, but you have to learn sculpting in Blender or Zbrush to do it.

I would say it's not completely truth, because they are far from flawless. Maya's pockmarked skin, many characters' glowing teeth, sunken eyes, wrong body proportions proportions, terrible facial expressions (Jill model) . A few models ARE REALLY BROKEN, but for a different reason: DPC did a fuck off job with them.
And the obsession with beauty is good. At least the AVNs have beautiful female characters, I'm sick of this AAA crap with ugly women. Most of the characters look pretty and normal, but we note here the flaws of some of them.

We must be playing different games. But those AAA games that are very popular have very good girl models. Not to mention that even if you take Dragon Age 4, in it the artists have done a tremendous amount of work, which is not to say about DAZ-artists, whose entire work is reduced to twisting a slider.

The slider allows you to make a great model from different morphs in half an hour and get a great model, without months of work and millions of dollars, but still being objective: different engines.

So today might be the day DPC announces the release date - February 21st.

The final status for the last episode was November 17, 2023 and the release announcement was on the 23rd. It was announced 6 days after. If we follow the same trajectory, the released date will most likely be announced over the weekend or latest Monday. Also, if you look at the last release date, it was released 3 weeks later on December 8. Most likely March 7 or 14 could be the potential release date.

This is not what "uncanny" means... Uncanny is when something tries to be realistic but, at the same time, there's something off that makes you fell... uncanny! Actually, I think your suggestion of rEaLiStIc characters that would be, in fact, uncanny.

Besides, you're in contradiction: first, you say the characters are out of proportion or look like cartoons; then you say that there's an obsession in art with making female characters "pretty" (implying it's the case of this game unless you're a schizo who talk about disconnected things in the same paragraph). Decide: they're deformed or pretty?

I don't want ugly characters but the overly 'sexified' characters don't interest me either. I prefer normal looking women like Sarah, Heather, Nicole, Maya, etc. There are some gamers out there that think if a female character doesn't match up to those in say, Stellar Blade, then they are ugly. That actually says more about those particular gamers than anything else (unrealistic, delusional, etc). We are celebrating feminine beauty more than ever because we are no longer sticking to a very specifc type of beautiful women and are appreciating women who are more diverse whether that means having more meat on their bones, being older or having stronger jaws/bigger nose/shorter hair. It's still great.
