Ya, that's what I did... but the files I open with Notepad are all in what appears to be Chinese, but which translators don't recognize as any language at all.

I'm not sure what to do with this.
You have to open the ".rpy" files, not the ".rpyc" ones. The files with a "c" at the end are encrypted. You can only read and edit them properly if they don't have a "c" at the end.
If you're opening the ".rpy" files and everything still appears encrypted, you're using the wrong version of UnRen. If I'm not mistaken, the recommended version for *Being a DIK* is "UnRen 0.11.0"
