I don't think I have ever discussed this.Haven't we discussed this before? It's been a long time, but there was a dialogue where we came to the conclusion that both were to blame for the disaster of their relationship. They didn't work together. Stephen is a soft-hearted weak-willed person who doesn't speak for himself, Jade is an alpha with a short fuse.
Burke in the flashback is an honest person, a ‘good guy’, then that he is weak remains a flaw but not a fault. and the purpose of the flashback also seems pretty clear to me to be to show just that (if not strange theories about Burke's former boss).
Jade on the other hand is already a terrible and unbearable wife who tries to tie him down with children, a rather selfish gesture. but then despite this incredible desire for motherhood she is a terrible mother.
Jade is not a victim
