His feeling bad for rejecting Zoey is almost surely to also have effect on the relationship. MC is quite often easy enough to read for the MGs, so you can be pretty sure it will be visible to Sage as well that something (new) is weighing on him the next time they're going to have a one-on-one talk.
The message after the DIK BBQ isn't canon. It's a choice. And what does the message he sends to Zoey after rejecting her have to do with his conscience in regards to his love interest? You send that same message if you're in a relationship or not.
You're making assumptions. If you're on Sage's path he sends lovely messages to her showing zero indication that he feels guilty that Zoey confessed her love to him. And who is he going to feel bad with if you are on the "Others" path? Because this same message happens on that path.
You speak about canon when in reality, there is no canon since the start of the game. We know a few things are cannon which are the major events but minor events such as LIs are not cannon, example chillout's LI run is way different than my LI interest run. But back to the point, he sends that message or choice after dumping his feelings (Guilt?) on her.
Yes I'm making assumptions, but that is all we can do right now. The assumptions I made however are based on by the personalities we know of the MG's and of MC. It doesn't matter if MC is in a relationship or not. As I stated, chances are high in some relationships (like Sage), that the partner will notice in one of the upcoming heart-to-heart conversations there is something troubling MC. If MC isn't in a relationship, then he simply feels bad.
There is definitely canon the whole way through. If something happens that will happen regardless of your choices it is regarded as canon and will happen on every single path that anyone could possibly make.
I agree. I have tried every path including Alone and Others and it always ends with "Its too late" I HATE this Kinetic Novel BS...Too many I have encountered things like this.
And that is what I am trying to say that why he sent it or how he feels is up in the air that ultimately lies on DPC to explain in the next episode on why the MC does this.
Did he feel bad during the Christmas dinner? He didn't seem affected too much by the confession before Derek amputated his finger. Or after confessing his feelings to Zoey during the BBQ, feeling bad about it & then proceeded to have sex with Sage in his tent.

That was never the discussion. Obviously DPC will flesh out the fallout of Zoey's choice in EP12. The discussion is does that text indicate that Tremolo is having a crisis of conscience & has to tell his love interest that Zoey confessed her love to him. And it doesn't. It happens on every path that you reject Zoey on. Relationship or not.

Has Sage picked up anything Jade related to this point? Either he can hide his feelings or he can't. Your argument is that in this one instance he won't be able to hide his feelings. What's a bigger secret to keep under wraps?
She has picked up something is wrong at least once and if I'm not mistaken a few times, you can see that for example when MC is having sex with her and instead of Sage he sees Jade for a moment. MC just talks around it/lies about it and Sage doesn't follow up on it (yet).
Are you talking about the sex scene from his conversation with Derek during Halloween? Because that happens whether you did anything with Jade or not.
