It's an arrogant answer, but the painful truth is that he won't change anything, even if he has good financials. Why change anything if, despite astronomically long waits for updates, he's experiencing growth? It's a market, you know you need to change if your investors are unhappy and your stock is falling - yes, I've compared Patreon to the stock exchange many times, they're pretty similar.
