I think Tremolo will definitely be given the option to bring Nick back onto the team, seems obvious with scenes we had after the fight:
View attachment 4989468 View attachment 4989470 However, I don't know what impact bringing him back or not will have. Maybe you're right and he has some leads on uncovering Magnar's plot.
Fuck that Nick sleeps with the fishes

But Nick is not innocent because he downplayed what vinny did during his tenure in the frat. This whole list of traditions? Everything was set up by Vinny including the walk of shame. The ending showed that the DIKS under the leadership of the MC is "healing" in a way that is not considered toxic. The whole thing with Avery and her gang is the result of vinny shaming all the girls and worse (kylie's sister).

What I saw during the blowup was Tommy being an actual asshole to everyone and the rest of the diks asking questions BUT the real kicker is Nick revealing everyone's secret especially MC's relationship with Bella if on her path AND shitting on the MC and neil's contribution in the renovation downplaying it as we fixed some windows and got "cheap" furniture.

Nick is not a traitor, but his tenure with the DIKS is done. No one will ever trust him again with anything that he might as well just leave for good.
Nick defending his former "Brother" who left under circumstances that still haven't been fully explained but sound like Tommy pushed him out because of jealousy may not be the most moral of things but it's definitely human. It's also not much of a criticism of Nick as while Vinny may have introduced those things it's the others who have chosen to carry them on while having memory-holed Vinny as not that important to their frat. I can definitely sympathise with Nick's perspective which is being somewhat angry that all the others are taking credit for Vinny's building of the frat while pretending he basically didn't exist or contribute much.

And his mocking of the MC is more raising what others were saying behind the MC's back while pretending to be nice in person, and how it is probably weird that the MC joined all of a few weeks ago and already seems to have taken charge because everyone else couldn't be arsed. I think there's also an element of Nick seeing how the MC acts and being reminded of Vinny too, as when the MC makes his big speech about repairing the mansion he is deliberately placed in the same pose and position as Vinny when he decides the DIKs should be the fuck around frat. His attack on the MC in that light seems less an attack and more a backhanded warning in Nick's mind that the others will ditch the MC the moment it's useful the same way they ditched Vinny.

Knowing what we know now about Vinny you could definitely tell he was an asshole, probably even more so than Tommy. Vinny calls mc a dog to his face and threatens him with a gun. Tommy & MC might have fought but Tommy also tried to make it up to MC with MacAllen's/Fake ID. That's Tommy's weird way of an olive branch. He never took anyone else there as evident by Jacob's surprise.

When someone leaves in that type of manner its going to be tarnished no matter what because when you're an asshole like that you don't get respect, deserved or not.

I genuinely think most of the DIKs appreciate MC, Rusty says it to his face. Tommy appreciates having to do less but keeping the VP title. Derek is bros with MC. John Boy and MC get along well as long as you don't lie to him but John Boy is very easy going either way. Jacob seems fine with MC. Jamie is sort of just there & Leon even says great party to MC at Panty party. So I really think any of the DIKs have a hatred or want to ditch MC considering what he's done well except fuck boy Nick

Dropping in to say that I've seen the light. I held off on playing this game so long simply because I'm not generally a fan of school-centric VN's, but calling this just another one of those is like calling The Beatles another boy band. Truly mind-blowing programming & writing.

I've also immediately joined the cult of Sage, playing Neutral. If something goes horribly wrong (I got the hj from Jade but never fucked her in my first playthrough) and my idyllic world comes crashing down around me, my backup plan is to move to the moon with Rio to perfectly organize all the moon stones, and fire laser beams at the shitheads who kidnapped her. Given the complexity of the branching in this game, I believe that holding out hope for this becoming an option is not unreasonable of me.

And to be somewhat on topic: I think Nick is a red herring as well, but I could see it being maybe a choice as to whether he's treated as such or not - at least for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if you continue to have an option to kinda scapegoat him. At the same time, I really don't know & I always chose to not badmouth him after the blowup - simply because I don't feel it's a good look for a new leader to set such a tone. He also doesn't strike me as someone who'd know all there is to know about current day Vinny. If I'm wrong, of course - then fuck all of what I just said & fuck him.

But I don't really feel like I know what I'm talking about with this game until I do at least another full play through. Then again, I'm not so sure I have it in me to knowingly hurt or deny the infinitely perfect constellation of pixels and writing known as Sage. Then again (again), the game is so damn good that I may have to - at least before the next update. It's not that the other girls are lame (far from it - I'm very intrigued by Josy, Lily, Jill & Zoe in particular) - it's that Sage is so 10/10 imo, waving green flags every moment she's on screen. But anyway - not to derail the Nick debate.

But Nick is not innocent because he downplayed what vinny did during his tenure in the frat. This whole list of traditions? Everything was set up by Vinny including the walk of shame.
Not innocent of what, exactly?

He downplayed Vinny?

Ep3: Nick said Vinny dropped out because he was only into partying, and was a very troublesome guy. And that he and Vinny were the first pledges after Rusty and Tommy founded the DIKs.

Ep4: MC finds Nick in the "very messy room" while looking for the laptop. That this room used to be Vinny's, that he meets Vinny outside of campus sometimes, and Nick called him a "pig". That the room was even messier while Vinny was living in it, and trashed it the first day he moved in.

Ep5: Flashback where the DIKs are recruiting for the "right kind of people". Vinny says that if he read between the lines correctly, they hinted that they have ways to get around the system. Further in the flashback, Rusty says they are looking for "new dudes to join the cool club." Vinny's unimpressed, asks if that's what they'll gonna call it. Tommy tells him that they are still in the planning phase, and to drop the attitude.
Suffice to say, Vinny likes the DIK name.
Rusty says they are trying to create a brotherhood; the DIKs should be people they can trust, because this mansion "will be a house of sin." Vinny gets enthusiastic and stands on the stairs, saying "yes! Now we're talking! A brotherhood! We're brothers then!"
Tommy calls them a maggot, and Vinny likes that, and considers them all maggots.

At this point Vinny already knows some guys that have drugs, while discussing the pledge board for hazing.

When Vinny starts destroying the Library, Rusty isn't impressed. Vinny: "A maggot should live like a maggot and a DIK should live like a DIK, and that this room happens to work for both." (This is 3rd person omniscient, and not Nick telling the story.)

After the mansion gets trashed by the Tri-Alphas, Tommy sees Vinny in the MC, as he had a violent fight with Vinny years ago.

Ep6: Nick tells MC that the relationship between Vinny and Tommy deteriorated. The MC asked if that caused Vinny to leave, but Nick said it didn't. Vinny leaving actually made the DIKs frat a lot better. Nick describes Vinny as someone who brought a lot of fun, but that he was polarizing; you either loved or hated the guy. He hoped that MC doesn't turn out to have the same outcome as Vinny.

There's more, but what exactly was Nick holding out on? Comapred to Vinny, his room is perhaps the most clean (and empty, perhaps in contrast to not liking Vinny so much. Nick's Hallowe'en costume was amazing, and scary, which implies either introverted creativity, or suppressed, symbollic feelings of some kind.) Sure, he didn't say everything he could have in Episode 11, and that's fine for narrative reasons. But he was very clear throughout the story that Vinny caused a lot of problems, and it got better when he left.

The ending showed that the DIKS under the leadership of the MC is "healing" in a way that is not considered toxic. The whole thing with Avery and her gang is the result of vinny shaming all the girls and worse (kylie's sister).
Ok. The DIK choice with Kylie and Penny at Ep11 is nearly identical, apparently, as Vinny's way of kicking Kylie's sister out naked in the cold (which caused the whole naked DIK poster fiasco around campus.)

Not exactly "healing", and more "exactly the same."

The difference being the DIK MC isn't a party animal, drug-dealing, stereotypical, dropout bad guy.

If the MC is so "healing", and he has the MC powers, he could very well get Nick to come back. Depends on how much drama DPC wants for this "being a DIK" experience.

MC has been known to be rather guilty over stupid things, so it's within his psyche to go all heroic-crusade drama on ex-maggot brother Nick.

Though, we're still waiting years for heroic MC to go save Riona, and that time has come and gone.

Another Sage run done, using all my self control to not just do another moving on to another Bella run. As it stands though from Ep 1 to 11 Sage Is best girl, 12 might let Bella take No. 1 again but It's hard not to love Sage.

Spock and Dale were right about the wholesome variant for Sage in 11.

Nick stole the fish money. Unforgivable.
He also volunteered to sell or "donate" whatever furniture and appliances they got from Neil that wasn't broken, and that’s the last we ever hear of that, leading me to believe he pocketed any profit made. What a fucking asshole.
Ratted on me and Bella. Dead man.
The thing with Nick is I still get the view he's innocent but has felt like an outsider for some time because Vinny left so he doesn't have a "Brother" in the frat. The thing about the blowup scene is that while he does come across as a defensive arsehole, nothing he says is actually untrue from the big picture point of view. The DIKs as a group are shown to be frequently hypocritical, not have each other's back despite claiming to, are undertaking actions that are at best morally questionable (such as the walk of shame) and have caused their own downfall.

Nick in my view is deliberately a red herring, because he doesn't actually do anything beyond the pale up to now outside the blow-up. The laptop is clearly set up that they haven't exactly kept the password secret (anyone could access it) and was way too out in the open. The embarrassing photos are free to see at all their parties. The idea of Nick being the "traitor" only works if you ignore everything discussed about the frat from outside of the MC's immediate view.

Whether innocent or not (he probably is), he lied about the laptop. He could have talked to Rusty in private at the very least.

Despite however reasonable or human it was to blow up after being backed into a corner, it doesn't change how he destroyed any and all trust everyone had in him. Even before that, he's shown to be a loose-lipped asshole who also likes to know other people's secrets.

Honestly my hatred of Nick is mostly a joke, but before Episode 10 he was absolutely worthless, brought nothing to the table other than being an OG DIK. Boring, in other words. He finally does something interesting, and it was banging Heather. Then he rats on everyone and leaves. Hard not to dislike him even more, the hobbit motherfucker. But he's more than likely innocent, I give him the benefit of the doubt when talking to the other DIKs, but I'll still meme on his ass.

and bad timing.

My gut tells me he walked in on Vinny using laptop at the party(Vinny has shown he can come and go as he pleases) and is protecting Vinny having used the laptop when the cluck went out(bro code of silence or loyalty to Vinny. No one ever asked Nick specifically if he saw Vinny using laptop).
Whether Vinny is the one who did the cluck post is still debatable as we don't have a real motive for it.
The only person I see wanting to potentially hurt Cathy is Jade(it seems to be intimated her husband has messed around with Cathy) but how that would work would be weird.
(Jade hiring Vinny/Nerds to get dirt on Cathy?)
Fun times of speculating.
Nick wasn't the traitor at first but in the end he turn into one by putting everyone shit out there and breaking bro code hardcore

Nick stole fish money so now Nick sleeps with the fishes, very logical for me

Yup he was a rat and he probably stole even more money I forgot about the furniture "donation."

Worse he broke general human code by being a rat

I don't give a damn about the money,
but that he stole my fish in front of my eyes that i had been feeding for so long,
that is unforgivable until death, fucking rat :mad:

He acts like a rat, he gets treated like a rat. Rio should kill him. And Vinny. And Buddy.

Anyway, $4 a pound.

True.
Although I would say there are deeper issues if all the DIKs were spouting about each other behind each other's backs.

For me Nick lost his cred by screwing around with Heather and *not* owning it. Regardless of what people think of Tommy-Heather relationship, that's still his GF(even if he treats her like a side girl, that's their business).
Nick sleeping with her and not copping to it for me is the biggest betrayal to all DIKs.
The rest was kind of a child lashing back out because they have no other options and just want to hurt anyone in front of them.

The thing is with that last line, they all thought Vinny was great... until they didn't want him. Even the Vinny encounter kind of reveals a little about the general interplay before you arrived. He's calling you a dog when you're in the same room he was in, the guy who thinks (and probably did) build the DIKs up and then got kicked out like a dog.

And the thing with Tommy, it feels like a shitty father making an effort very late in the day but after that is still a shitty father.
