But this is your choice, I don't understand why you're pretending it isn't.
I want the choices to matter? Not be "well maybe, I'll just throw away everything and start again" because my non-ex-girlfriend finally has a brain. Because you can? Is this a visual novel? Or just the hook up game with lots of choices?
What's next, dump Zoey and go for a new Others? I mean why not, it's just choices, right?
Now the Zoey Choice would be fine if one was purely on Others, and non-dedicated. But not a "MG", or anyone you're serious about.
"Oh but it's your choice!"
Just stop, please. I'm sure suicide, celibacy, running away, etc. is a viable choice in many instances; it doesn't mean it's a good idea, or well thought-out.
You know who is a real relationship destroyer ? Jade. With Zoey, at least you knew what you were doing and what would be the potential consequence. We're aware of her real feelings since the Interlude and we know what she was hoping for since the very start of the third season. There was no trap. You could be an ass to her which would lead to an automatic rejection in the latest episode. Even whe she confronts you at the end of the panties party you can still reject her. She can only destroy the entire relationship if you allowed her to do so. There was no secret agenda, we all knew she wanted a second chance with the main character.
But with Jade, the first time we played we couldn't possibly know she would be Sage's mom and we couldn't possibily know that just having a handjob in episode 3 would haunt the main character for the rest of the game and prevent you to get the I Love You scene. That's completely unfair and rubbish. A single fucking handjob in episode 3 is about to destroy 3 seasons of relationship with Sage. When we all started playing for the first time who the fuck could have expected that having a handjob with one of the teacher milf would ruin your entire relationship with one of the love interest two seasons later ?

No one.
We only comprehend the implication of having a handjob with the cougar after being completely screwed. Unlike Zoey, there's nothing you can do, no choice you can pick except for starting a new playthrough
...Jade isn't destroying anything toward Sage. She
was simply there. Purely in it for sex. Having Jade be Sage's mom is coincidence, and in these stories, forced melodrama for the three.
The only problem is the MC's reaction to Jade, and DPC making it seem like a big deal;
neither party did anything wrong. Is it weird? Should the MC immediately tell her? Considering her previous relationship, probably a good idea.
(DPC: "But let's milk it!")
Jade is certainly a wrench in the plans of MCxSage, but she hasn't destroyed it. The MC, being a weirdo "oh, what am I doing with Sage?" is stupid, forced writing. The fact it gets in the way of admitting his love to Sage is pathetic. Why should he care who he previously slept with? Considering Sage's advocacy for bisexual threesomes, how many women MC has plowed, and the MC's previous sex? Sexual relations with a foster mom is tiddlywinks.
The whole silly "what's your last name?" fiasco is another form of DPCs writing conflict of...nothing, complete with a cliffhanger/Burke family reveal that fizzled and went nowhere. But apparently this is a big-serious deal
now that he's serious about her?
If MC is serious, he'd tell her. Wow. But "guilt will eat you alive", because Jade/DPC said so. (?)
DPC: "No, we can do more stupid relationship-crap!"
Sure, let Sage smack him around or something. MC keeps chasing after her and eventually she forgives him, or she moves on. We'll see.
And if Sage can't stomach the MC's dick being in another woman in the past...who happens to be her foster mom...both of who had no idea about Sage during said behavior? Yeah, possibly (and stupidly), Jade could be the destroyer of Sage's happiness.
But Zoey?
ZOEY DESTROYS ALL.
