But it doesn't make sense because he has no idea about the relationship dynamic with MC x Maya x Josy because they were not there and MC did not explain well.
His opinion is under the assumption that MC got with Josy and then added Maya. Neil is the person to go any lengths but he gives a stern talking to the MC regarding that topic.
Call it bad writing or the typical MC being stupid with words when it matters, Example: MC fucks up explaining to Sage and Jill about Zoey.

As I said, it's not about Neil at all. If it were any other character in any other situation, my intuition wouldn't change. The point is that a trio is great for fun, but not for life.
It's these words written by DPC that make me worry, not who said them, when, or in what situation.

It is about neil LOL because he doesn't have the entire situation and is only giving advice with the situation that MC gave him.
The trio is great for both but they need to establish different rules and guidelines aka communication which has not been the case so far and only then, the throuple is barely starting to talk in... EP11

Even if he did explain it well, the throuple is still on shaky ground.
If it wasn't something that has been going on for so long and that a lot of players love, I would expect it to fall apart.
It's not exactly surprising though as i'd imagine balancing your time and affections in that kind of relationship must be a monumental task, especially when you're busy with college work and frat stuff.

No it's not a rocket science. MC tell him these 2 are great friend , they like each and they like me , I like them too, so we decide we like each other together.
and this is basically the story and Neil is like any normal person whos like, " Yeah, have fun , but this wont work in the long run " and the way the episode goes, is basically proving him right, since you either confess love to Josy or Maya, or not at all, what is compered to a confession is not really a reassuring thing ,
and even then you constantly at cross road to choose one of them.
there is nothing MC can explain better, because that's the reality of the things, he just didn't accepted it yet, because he is young, not even old enough to legally drink alcohol

Part of them being on shaky ground is because Neil didn't approve, which you could say would happen even if MC explained perfectly, but that passing time montage was pretty lame and subdued compared to everyone else's. MC is bummed out because Neil pooh poohed the idea, and the girls are bummed because he's bummed. And Josy has her identity crisis shit too which if anything is an even bigger problem.
The throuple will definitely not stand a chance when no one will give it a chance. But honestly I can take or leave it at this point, threesomes are awesome but I really just want Maya.
