No, I just replaced the variable, told Josie about Chad, and it worked. As for the "why," it's probably because of the dialogue structure, where instead of inviting you as a friend (Maya's idea), Josie suggests the beard trick (from the dialogue with you at the gym).

During the meeting in the library, if you mention to Josy about she will suggest to grow a beard which will then trigger Derek asking for a girlfriend. You will also see it in ep11 when Sage is flirting with the shrimp and mention about the idea

Yeah, it's pretty dumb imo that Josy is the only one who comes up with that idea and not Sage is well if you didn't tell Josy.

Maybe he knew that we would think so and immediately reject this idea. He is so brilliant that he outplayed us by making us doubt everything he does (except for "lazy writing" here he could not deceive us unfortunately)

Fuck, okay, fine. I changed the "tell Josie about Chad" variable right before we visited her house. It worked, and Sage is coming with us. But why the hell aren't Maya and I a couple? There's no kissing scene with Maya in front of Patrick. But Sage is still Derek's girlfriend. It's weird. I tried changing the same variable in the library during the plan development, and the team agreed that I would be Maya's boyfriend. What the hell is going on?
