For me, the big kicker if that it has to be visually shocking; otherwise Maya's reaction makes zero sense. That's why the Lynette connection theory doesn't hold water for me: why would she be shocked to see photos of Bella and some random woman together? It's a big revelation for the MC, sure, but it doesn't explain why Maya was so stunned. And, honestly, it wouldn't really explain why the door was locked.

I'm not holding my breath for anything impactful after the absolute disaster that was last episode's ending. I'd like it to be something that advances Bella's story, but let's be real it's entirely likely that it'll be something inane and stupid. Just so long as it makes sense to react to with shock, that's all I ask. Please not something totally dull.

Anyway, this is the basis for my theory that Bella moonlights as a party clown entertaining children on their birthdays and this is where she keeps the suit.

And reacting in shock with relativity to Derek having just cut an inch of his finger off. So it needs to be as, if not more, shocking than Derek's finer situation for people to even give a fuck at that moment in time.

But what I really want to know is, why did DPC show us the chaotic Christmas table scene where Derek cut his finger off way back at the beginning of episode 9? The opening to Episode 9 is Christmas and the knocked over dinner table, and then we cut to the Halloween stuff. Why bother doing it then?
