If your post is partially made in response to mine, I think you're misconstruing my choice of words concerning Jill. It's been a while since I've gone on a rant about Jill, so allow me to explain.

Regarding the banana costume shenanigans, I have actually come to like it. For me, that was the first time in the game where I could acknowledge Jill as a genuine person in the story. Before that, every plot point involving her just reminded me that she wasn't a part of the story until less than a month before episode 1 dropped.

To clarify, it's not Jill herself I hate so much as her being present in the game as one of the main characters. I don't mind playing Jill's path, at least, after her character began being fleshed out post-episode 5. Had she been introduced as one of the side girls, I wouldn't have minded her as much, but no; DPC, in his unassailable wisdom, chose to make her a key character after 5 months of working on BaDIK(I'm speaking of before episode 1 dropped).

I even appreciate the little quirks DPC added into her path to make her more than one-dimensional, like the banana costume(the hate on it is more of a thread meme at this point - few of us truly hate it these days and there are more annoying issues in the plot), as she was in the first few episodes, but my hate runs too deep. My problem with her is also my main problem with Madame Rose. Just like the manatee's involvement in the game, Jill was entirely a last-minute addition, and her existence either took away from or altered the other main girls' arcs noticeably. For that, she will always be undesirable numero uno to me.

Well, when discussing the love interests, that is. Madame Rose is indisputably the worst addition to the game, seeing as she is the only character that, as of yet, has no relevance to the story and has taken up a decent amount of lewd scenes for seemingly no reason.

To sum it all up, Jill's glaring Mary Sue-esque arc in the first two seasons constantly reminded me of what I'd feared would happen when she was first introduced to us early patrons only weeks before release. Mind you, she was introduced to us like two weeks before episode 1 dropped, whereas every other main girl had already been known to us for over 3 months at that point. Having received hints of the first 4 main girls' storylines for months at that point, when it came to playing the game, the moments that Jill quite literally stole from the other 4 became glaringly obvious to me. Even down to the fact that DPC spent the least amount of time on her model to make it more original from the generic models available through Daz 3D. I knew she would extend development times(especially back then, before DPC had even close to enough funds to set up a render farm), I knew her path would feel contrived, weak, and dumb, and I knew that the story modifications her presence demanded would only damage the arcs of the other love interests(which it did). She signifies, to me, the worst of DPC; all the traits that we have all come to be, at the very least, disillusioned with him as a dev. I could rant on forever about her, but I've gone on more than long enough for you to get the point.

I hate Jill because she never should have existed, but I am not lost in my hate. I can enjoy the improvised work DPC has done to make her into her own character.
I've always assumed that Jill came to be because there were too many plot points to tie to the main girls and some of Jill's were originally Bella's or possibly Sage's. So even if Jill was a late addition a lot of her plot was already there. There was a Jill shaped hole in the story that needed to be filled up.

I shall take the liberty of noting the irony that all these images are from post-episode 5 :KEK:. Does anybody else remember when everyone was calling her a raccoon? No? Just me? :HideThePain:

You're correct. That's exactly why he cooked her up. At least, that can be true now as we have no idea how it would have turned out without her. However, I will state again that this revealed DPC's greatest flaw early on. He'd rather add something in than cut corners, even if it means he must rush something to add it in.

Also, she borrowed from Josy as well, not just Bella and Sage. Note how the girls who form the quickest bonds with Jill also happen to be the characters she displaced, whereas Maya's character was left largely unmolested while having the fewest interactions with Jill.

I'm pretty interested to see how everything with the Royce family will resolve.

The family is so broken and I have a feeling that Geoff is gonna snap at some point.

Will Jill confront her parents? Will Tremolo step in as a mediator? I'm curious to see how it all plays out.
