I'd be stunned if we got a release announcement when Beta testing hadn't even begun last week. At best I think we might get confirmation beta testing has started, but even that seems optimistic.
Personally, I'd settle for DPC giving us some meaningful numbers this time. That should give us an idea on just how much the animation rendering is accelerating in the home stretch (if at all), and that's going to be the key to when beta testing can start.
As for thingsI feel are likely to happen in the update, in no coherent order:
- Cutscene with Quinn's dealer
- Date with Jill
- D&G session
- Tommy and the MC dealing with the fallout of the Cathy-cluck judgement (whatever it winds up being)
- Fun with side-girls (definitely Envy and Cathy, probably some of the HOTs, I doubt Jade yet)
- Helping Maya & Josy with the Scavenger Hunt (very curious to see how that goes down)
- Birthday party for MC (at least at school, possibly at home, too)
- Some sort of revelation about what happened to Bella (surely DPC wouldn't let a title like 'Damage Control' skip that entirely?!)
- The return of Chad (probably to break up with Sage, but I doubt that will be resolved in Ep 6)
- HOT evaluation
- Heather's Putsch (during said evaluation?)
- Tybalt's meeting with Jill (it was mentioned twice; not sure why but I bet it matters)
- Jill's concert
- A background KRJ cameo in class
- Rusty unmasked as the Tybalt troll account
Admittedly, those last two might be pushing it, but it's late and I'm going slightly stir crazy here.
