Can I just say, before I begin my quote fest, that for the first time in a long time (like since episode 7 dropped), it was fun reading through the comments on this thread. The five pages I just read through since my last post were interesting and funny. Thank you.

This worries me as well. DPC has been working like a mad man for the past several years, hardly any breaks, and cranking out an incredible amount of content. I hope he doesn't lose his focus. If this goes past season 4, then we add years on to the development cycle and goodness knows how many gigs. Shit, players will be able to finish real college before the game is over. And my big worry is episode dev times extending well beyond 6 months. As much as I enjoy BaDIK, I feel like a season 5 (20 episodes) would just be dragging the story on unnecessarily. DPC does have a tendency to stretch out plotlines for longer than they need to be.

Can you imagine still no solid information on Bella's mystery by season 3 end? Or any revelation about the stalker/traitor? And Maya's tuition/daddy drama? Or if Jill is still a virgin by then? Personally, I'd like to see the game wrap up no later than season 4 end (episode 16) and then move on to DPC's next game after he has time to refresh. That is still many years away! I know a lot of people would like to see all four years of BaDIK college, but the game/setting might go stale by that point, especially if some of these mysteries aren't solved soon and new ones introduced.

I'm getting more and more the feeling of "Lost", with the constant impression that for every "answer" that is given at least two new "mysteries" are born, which involves either a lot of planning or just a Lost-like ending

More Than likely he does not work in specific order. for Example, Episode 6 development, probably not went in this way: I start With Jill Flashback, then, continue with MC x Josy x Maya, meeting with May's father, and then Josy, sex ... etc etc etc.
Creating a Free Roaming is probably more time consuming than create Renders for more simple scenes, like Jill's Flashback.

The important Data was the 2,5 Giga. Ep 7 patch was 3,9 . More than likely he is Half Way.
But if he say something like I created 200 Render and 30 Animation, , enema144 would analyze it , and lets be real, it would feel like very little progress, Because we don't know what kind of content he is Working.

It also probably less Stressful for him, to every week calculate how much render he created to compared to last week.

But first Shazba, then Kellermann and now felicemastronzo, You all inventing thing that are not there. He just did a Q/A recently, where he confirmed how excited he is, how he is grateful that now there is no holding back when its comes to animations, He even take a break before Started ep 8, to regain his energy, and now you assuming he get tired ? I like to be cautiously Optimistic, not always works. Lets Face it, When this game is done , there is no way it will live up to our expectation. We would Feel he could have done more, or differently.

And this is probably the main Stress factor for him too. He mentioned that once he put behind the Game, he does not want to feel that he could have done more, but I think that is almost impossible.
But We Will see. Right now I don't See, or Feel anything that Indicate that he is G.R.R. Martin, Who was incapable to finish a single book in 10 year, and lost the interest entirely , He just to fucking big of an asshole to admit it to the audience.

Off the top of my head, I don't feel like too much new material was added in the last episode (might explain the typical abysmal discussion in this thread since ep7; there's been nothing new to talk about other than the Madame's poor skin hygiene).

A few things were exposed:

• The mystery woman with glasses was Jill's mom,
• Troy & Chad are an item,
• Jill's virginity was confirmed (and the fact that lemonfreak was wrong all along, she does indeed have a cunt),
• Jill's sister is hotter than Jill (R.I.P.)
• The mystery photo was indeed Jill on her sister's shoulders

There are some nice developments like:

• Lily's new found interest in the mc,
• Quinn's public display of association with the mc,
• Sage actively chasing the mc's affection
• Jill's jealousy (and Quinn's jealousy for that matter)

But I can't think of any new juicy details other than the pending Halloween party.

So I think the story isn't really getting away from itself, but there's still a while to go yet.

Overall it's just a fun goofy story with some low-level drama, but I wonder if things will be amped up eventually. I don't know if the more unpleasant events so far are related and will eventually drive the plot towards its finale, or if the game is just a slice of life at college with its ups and downs.

I think the biggest issue with the game is our obsession with it.

The Game of Thrones TV series took 9 years to complete. I remember watching the first season without any recommendation and instantly being hooked (kinda like when I first played BaDIK). But between season's of GOT I just got on with my life, and when I found out the new season was out, I watched it and so on.

With BaDIK, we're on this board daily obsessing over it, making it a bigger thing than it is, and worrying about enduring the years it will take to complete. If we just fucked off and then later pleasantly discovered a new episode was out, we wouldn't be spending any time worrying about it.

Personally I'm not too worried. I just sensed a change in tone with DPC's posts and mentioned it.

The thing with the mmf situation, you shouldn't be sharing your girl with some other dude, you should be fucking their girl with them. That's why the JB & Elena thing works, where as the MC sharing Jill with Tybalt hasn't gained as much traction.

My only criticism of the game, is the horrendous free roam mode. It feels like a chore everytime and the navigation is just so confusing.

But if that is the best part of the game since it is the only opportunity we have to control the MC

You'd think the fast travel option that eventually comes in would be handy. But since you pretty much have to go everywhere anyway, by the time I know where I want to go it's just as quick to remember how the house is laid out than to find the room I'm looking for in the scroll.

Please though, all future VN developers: please don't have rooms where the default view is facing back the way you just came.

Yeah, the events and interactions of the free roams are fine, but the navigation is appalling. He should work with a floor plan and the mc should always face the direction you press, but he's fucking all over the place!

Given how meticulous everything else appears to be, I don't know how he ballsed the freeroam navigation up so badly.

The last time I played the free roam in the DIKs mansion when they all come together for a meal, the quick travel button disappeared and I got pissed off trying to find the table. Found it, but it shouldn't be even remotely confusing to walk around the house.

The technical aspect of the game is fine and AL beginning wasn't awful, but then when I discovered I was going to be stuck with an ugly version of Josy (Meghan), and her insufferable acting practice, I began to zone out. The fire was sweet relief because I was ready to kill that woman myself. Still, the forced "decision" itself was dumb. Add to that a creepy 40-yr old MC who tries to fit in with the 20-yr old crowd.

Yeah, the story just got worse as the game went along and never recovered. I couldn't delete that game fast enough after I finished my one and only playthrough. It's a shit sandwich. Bon appétit

Yes the structure of the game itself is not bad. The coding isn't terrible, the renders aren't terrible. All of that is fine. I personally hated most of the characters, but that still isn't the biggest issue. Something I hardly ever feel when playing a game, watching a movie, or reading a book is utter and complete boredom. When that happens then it's game over (literally and figuratively). That game bored the hell out of me. I didn't care if Liam lived or died. That's how disagreeable I found him. Out of all the completed games on F95 that I have played, AL had the most boring and morose final third. I'm still in awe of how much DPC improved from AL to BaDIK. It's like an artist going from creating a child's finger painting to creating the Mona Lisa.

These are all the reasons why AL did nothing for me as well. Once the mc went into melt down after the fire I completely lost interest.

I did play AL after I'd completed BaDIK up to episode 6, so maybe if it was one of the first AVNs I'd played it may have had a completely different appeal.

I find it's the Ctrl key on my computer. Do they both accomplish the same function?

You have to hold the CTRL key down continuously, whereas you just press TAB once and it speeds through until the next option or next new text. Same outcome but less effort.

I doubt it will end at season 3. My thought was it will have 4 seasons and 16 episodes. That's two more full seasons and several years. That will be plenty of time to tie things up nicely and still have lots of fun before people start dying and ladies get pregnant. A fifth season would be jumping the shark.
Solve some mysteries, give me a Halloween party, hopefully a Christmas, and really hopefully a time skip to spring so Bella can teach MC and the DIKs can have spring break and I'll be quite satisfied. After that I'll be ready to leave B&R behind and excited to see DPC's next project.

We need Spring Break, definitely Spring Break.

BADIK is definitely one of the games I'm most looking forward to the new chapter of, but there are so many other games to distract yourself with, and I'm someone who almost only plays complete games with very few exceptions.

the problem with the comparison with TV series is that more or less we will continue to watch them until the last days of our lives, if we like a series the main concern we have is that it is not interrupted for poor results

with BADIk the situation is more complicated, the risk of it being interrupted is there anyway, in the end many games, even successful ones, have suffered more or less permanent stops, but that's not the problem

in 2 or 3 years (but in reality also in 6 months) will you still be here waiting for the release of the new chapter of BADIK? I don't even know if I can hope for that...

the first season was an excellent journey (surely the fact that I played it all at the same time weighs in the judgement), it's very easy to talk about what happened in the first cycle (whether we liked it or not), already this second season is more vague, less cohesive, several things have happened but less linked to a unitary plot development. now we're waiting for the end of the season, which just like in a TV series weighs more than the single episode, we'll see.

but the impression is that it will be another Game of death, with a fun but senseless sexual marathon, at the limit with a final drammatic twist (which for me, in a season finale is almost more of a flaw)

I'm low key hoping for a time skip after Halloween party. Jump 2 years to MC being named President of DIK's and Josy being President of HOT's, with Derek being 2nd in command.

Then we can have a new batch of recruits going through hell week and get to see it from a new perspective. A new batch of HOT's to 'get to know' and new mystery unfolding. This would give MC and crew (and players) time to recover from whatever tragedy DPC has in store for us while still flashing back to it occasionally as the story warrants. We'd be building up to spring break being planned by MC and Josy or something. Just let us get with Karen Rebecca Johnson before any of that happens. ;p

A time skip isn't a bad idea itself,but after we play the entire year. I want to attend Spring Break, Sage's graduation and graduation party and the first college summer of the MC

Yeah, BaDIK is a tad strange when it comes to MC's horniness level and his ability to perform. Sometimes it is superhuman (5-6 women in row like Spear said), while other times MC goes long periods of time without so much as a quick attempt to spank that monkey around. On my Jill playthrough I get zero sex and aside from wet dreams MC never even considers a wank. After getting cucked by Neil in ep. 1 while try to have one to Josy, that's it for the rest of the game apparently. DPC must assume no player is dumb stalwart enough to attempt a sexless Jill only playthrough.
