i am troubled by 1 thing though, i am having 1 playthrough where i am in a Jill Relationship. how is sage's brother gonna react to that during those family dinner's? has he cried to his mom by that time, is he going on a revenge spree to make me look bad when trying to help Maya?

Well i didn't think about Tybalt, but you are right that story is getting pretty fucked up with that shitty last moment surprise!!

If you never did anything with Jade , you are pretty safe for now, your mother in law will love you, maybe more that Sage would like!!

And about that surprise i didn't like it at all, it was total crap in my opinion. I thaught it was a bad brasilian soap like my wife sometimes watch.
It was really far fetched, we know Sage for a long time, Jade too, Burke and Tybalt also and nothing ever was said about it ???!!!. That's really some cheap and badly done surprise. I almost felt DPC middle finger teasing my butthole!
But anyway it's done, as i did not intended to choose Sage after having lived Jill first time and Bella's sexplosion, i think i will not have much to do with that family again.
Now i have a much bigger problem, Jill or Bella ?, my god i can't choose, if i could have a threesome life with Jill and Bella i would gladly be their doggy, have a collar and a leash and live in a dog house near the pool!

If Mc were sure of his feelings (toward the LIs or toward Zoey) one way or the other the encounter would be final, and fundamentally it would also be less interesting

there is a need to cultivate all his doubts and guilt (it doesn't matter what Zoey did or didn't do, the blame will always be essentially on MC, my money is on him believing Emma's post)

so he will first have to make amends with Zoey and then possibly apologize again to the LI who was sidelined or kept in the dark.

when DPC overly forces our hand, taking away even the illusion of control (because we never have control, so much for the sake of "decisions matter"), at least personally it is never pleasant, hopefully it is still exciting

then the sex scenes to keep us going will surely be there

The meeting will develop because the MC wants it to or because he is encouraged to by Sage. In EP6, when the MC comforts Sage because of Chad in the rain, you can read that. Hence my suspicion that Sage and Zoey might know each other.

That would also explain the end of Interlude, why Sage is so angry at the MC because Sage finds out that Zoey is his ex-girlfriend.

Besides, I personally don't think it's a bad thing for the MC to have a clarifying conversation with Zoey.

SomboSteel I like you, but that wasn't objective because you based it on your subjective view of why there are players who don't like Maya.

Objectively, it's simply that there are players who recognize Maya's problem as a problem and not a drama. A problem is there to be solved. So you think about the solution to a problem, but not the problem itself, because then it becomes a drama and you only see the problem itself, but no solution.

A true story:
My first great love had a stepfather who was just like Patrick, except for the religion thing. Many men were put off by her stepfather because he was a problem (cockblock). She herself was a virgin and like Maya, not really familiar with boys either. Yes, she had boys as boyfriends too, but not anymore. The stepfather made sure of that. I was not deterred and it took 6 months for her stepfather to trust me. I also didn't have sex with my first great love until after those 6 months (before her I had several girlfriends and had sex with you too). But those 6 months of waiting were more than worth it. M. G. (My first great love) was like Maya in the beginning and became a Josy. All it took was a look, a touch or a word and we fell over each other and fucked like rabbits. All this would never have happened if I had also been deterred by her stepfather.


There are players who want it easy and there are players who also accept difficulties in order to achieve their goal. That is objective.

But there's also a subjective side to the coin. Some people like Maya, others don't.

while you are right and nothing is ever purely objective, i was trying my best to give a balanced and reasonable viewpoint of where the Maya dislike actually comes from. instead of just "LUL Maya sux", i was trying to be as fair as possible in my assessment.

i do believe most players that are critically thinking about the narrative believe that she is the weakest link in the chain of the early story. i also believe that most players who acknowledge that would also believe her fairly surmountable problems are too dramatized and too forced in your face as MC. and finally i believe that the execution of the infamous library throuple breakup whatever you wanna call it scene isnt a strong point for these same players. its these things combined that make up the legitimate criticisms of Maya, IMO. and i dont mean the trolls who just think she is dumb or sucks for no reason, im trying to explain where what i believe the valid dislike of her as a character comes from.

that said there is nothing wrong with you overlooking those reasons and still liking her. thats cool but for those genuinely wondering why she is lamented at times, i wanted to give the closest thing to an objective answer that i could

I really don't get the shocked response to Sage being a Burke.

So it definitely didn't come out of nowhere.

It's clear that DPC was dropping very subtle hints to support it. All of his "plot twists" have had some foreshadowing, but often it's only obvious in hind sight. Those are the best kinds of clues.

As far as the mc not knowing, I'm pretty sure it's not some secret, it's just nobody told him.

In my primary school one of my teachers was my friend's mom. I knew it was his mom because I hung out at his house from time-to-time, but his mom told him not to call her "mom" at school, and I remember laughing my ass off when much later into the year when one of my other friends didn't believe me when I said our teacher was his mom. He just didn't know, because you don't run around discussing who your parents are all the time. There were other kids whose surnames were the same as other teachers, no one automatically assumed they were related.

The only thing you have to accept is that either:

1. The mc didn't know Sage's surname.
2. The mc knew Sage's surname but understood that everyone with the same surname in this world isn't necessarily related.
