I don't like this whole Riona storyline.
Especially because it means we won't get any romantic scenes with her for a long time.

Or a message is received from Rio's phone to the HOTs and Fuckface telling them she's quit B&R, Cam is worried (as she was about Mona) especially as all her stuff is still in their room, but everyone else takes it at face value. Cliffhanger at the end of the episode is someone (probably Cam or Fuckface) discovering some sort of proof that something else has happened, for example finding her shoe and some blood where she was grabbed. That leads to my expected end of season cliffhanger of a confrontation with Vinnie resulting in a shot being fired and the screen going black.
It's really symbolic that both of Camilla's roommates are missing. First Mona and now Riona.

There hasn't been such a dramatic rise in rates there. It literally happened all at once.
Even if we accept that the Rio problem is minor and Riona is just let go, there are other events that could just as easily lead to bad consequences.
My main point was that a lot of bad things happened in a short period of time. Things are getting too unpredictable.
DPC could have just focused on Riona's kidnapping and call it a day, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
if you consider the whole episode there is Quinn being robbed (the real beginning of the confrontation with Vinnie) and Tybalt's blackmail (which, however ridiculous, threatened to end the story between MC and Jill, so not insignificant)

I don't see a big difference there.

Even if we assume MC is at Neil's house all weekend and doesn't just know what's going on on campus, as early as the first school day, Sage is already stirring up a hornet's nest all over campus to find Riona.
would it be so strange that Riona went home for a couple of days taking advantage of thanksgiving? it is a time when all students go home

the only one who knows that Riona has been kidnapped is Quinn, who has no reason to spread the news. in theory if MC is in her path she could share the news with him, but still this storyline will remain frozen for most of the episode, if not all of it, if anything becoming the finale of the new episode
Quinn can't keep that a secret from the HoT's very long and besides when someone is kidnap there a ransom how do we know Vinny would contact Quinn and since Rio was still on the phone with Quinn when it happen she might had heard the name drop to me it make makes sense that Vinny would call Sage or one of the other HoT's. There nothing the mc can do but I don't see people being like where did Ro go oh well the whole time until the truth comes out but I could be wrong. MC did say Thanksgiving weekend was the worse ever part of that has to be about Rio this episode doesn't have to get her back but I would think it has to deal with her kidnapping in some way

Sooner or later Riona's kidnapping will come to light, but to get beyond the next chapter, it may be enough for Quinn to hide it for a couple of days.

And what should Vinnie say to Sage? "Hi I'm a drug dealer who kidnapped a student friend of yours, but the important news I want to give you is about Quinn?" did he need to kidnap Riona?

Did Quinn being robbed really have anything to do with Vinny or was she just robbed? The only thing that Tybalt blackmail try is that he failed. But with Rio something did happen she got kidnap I would call that a massive difference

Riona has been screwed around by Quinn more than once, so there's been growing tension in that relationship for quite some time. She's slowly started to confide in the MC, and from the talk at the Halloween party & the "date" in this latest episode, we see that Rio is starting to reconsider her life choices. So, this kidnapping appears to just be an event meant to be the wakeup call that will convince her to separate from Quinn's illegal activities for good.

that Tybalt's blackmail was a failure we can say now, not at that time.

even for Patrick arriving at the BR something MUST have happened, and then almost nothing happened. (Or with Tommy discovering MC and Josy and a thousand other twists and turns).

the most likely denouement for Riona is that she is released and after some time somehow gets Quinn in trouble (either because she was scared or because she didn't feel defended as much as she hoped or because she was forced to betray her etc) and none of these things are necessarily going to happen in the next chapter. which is the chapter before the colnclusion of the season, where normally little happens but the bang is set up

Kidnapping Rio gives Vinny power over Quinn he can threaten her two ways one going to the Sage or someone with facts about what Quinn is doing and two he can also hurt Rio or worse if Quinn doesn't do what he says. Vinny has Quinn right where he wants her and he could now have the city and the college to sell drugs to

Vinny has Quinn where he wants her or at least that what he would think plus he would now have the city and the college to sell drugs
To do business in college, he needs someone there.
He won't be able to sell there himself.
It could be Nick, but I don't see him in it.
But maybe it could be Lily.
Perhaps Lily acted act in Vinny's favour from the beginning.

Tommy has gotten drugs from Vinny before so he does have people he can go to

of course having Riona is an advantage for Vinnie, but it doesn't put him in a position to turn anyone in, he's as much a criminal as Quinn and plus he kidnapped a student. criminals don't want to get too much attention. and also the hypothesis of Riona going to turn her in is possible but not that likely, Riona would ruin herself, Quinn is a small fish so it's not like she can hope for who knows what kind of exchange with the authorities.

then Vinnie does not seem to me to be the type to want Quinn in jail (once in jail what reason would she have not to drag him along?) he wants her in his service and Riona can serve her in this
