Maybe I overdosed on this game a bit last few days, but I am struggling with Maya and Josy path right now, simply lacking motivation. The new scenes that I haven't seen have some moments, but not impressed with it as a route - more like I wouldn't mind them just being part of a game side story. Even tho I enjoy Josy, just knowing Maya is around corner probably secretly depressed about how I always choose Josy is not doing it for me. I may be an asshole, but I have ethics!

I will finish it, have Episode 9 and 10 left so not long now. But yeah, I struggle to see appeal and doubt it will enter anywhere near top 5 routes for me in this game, it is what it is. Isn't it weird that so far most likeable Maya I have seen was the one that showed up unexpectedly on Jill Chick route. There are some odd shenanigans going on, I feel like I'm being trolled by DPC. *tinfoil noises*

All of us have overdosed with Badik at some point. My advice is stopping playing 1-2 weeks and try to roleplay differents MCs (neutral CHICK, neutral DIK are the best options, but the funniest is the massive DIK path)

Just sitting here, waiting for the next update Darkwen to come back, MIA for almost a month now.
But in the meantime, let's have a serious discussion about Josy, and her infatuation with MC.

Of the 5 Main Girls, she's definitely the craziest for him, and openly takes it the hardest when dumped. But that doesnt necessarily translate to love. She has an advantage over the others, having worked with MC for nearly two months over the summer, but both of them acknowledge they never really got to know each other until the very end, with their first date in Episode 1. He was basically a nervous pussy who acted like a virgin, and she just admired him from afar, held back by her "boyfriend". We learn later that she was checking him out on Rooster too, even though his account was disabled at the time? That's what he said when talking to Zoey, and we don't gain access until Episode 3. He's a good looking dude, not an asshole like Steve, and clearly had a crush on her as well. But the attraction is extremely unbalanced, she likes him MUCH more than he likes her, even taking into consideration his Episode 4 hissy fit.

Josy was in a very strained, secret relationship with Maya. She started crushing hard on her quiet coworker over the summer. The plan to be with Maya seems to be failing, as she hasn't been accepted to B&R yet. So she decides to give in to her emotions and hook up with MC, only to stop out of guilt and give him the bad news. This is where things get fuzzy.

She invites MC over for what I assume is a last-ditch effort to be with him, because she had just quit her job and was planning on just leaving town. But then later she's accepted into B&R, only tells MC and not Maya, and it sounded like she was going to ultimately choose him. Then we know how the rest of the story goes.

Okay, I devolved into just summarizing. My point is that there's no real foundation for Josy to be so obsessed with MC in the first place. This is a gameplay limitation, but even if you ignore and reject her as much as possible, she's still pining for MC. MC seems like more of an idea, a promise of escape from all the drama involved with dating Maya, where she can be carefree and have it easy.

She just so happens to be right if you do pursue her.

There are quite a few exceptions of course, but a majority for sure.

And DPC sees himself as one definitely.
And for me, all my top 10 games dev's would qualify for sure, so...

Though the fact that "almost-virgin" turns into "romantic" with a second woman means it can easily be used as a Zoey only check. And coders don't tend to leave stuff like that without using it at some point.



Basically he became successful and he changed. He was polite and friendly on F95 while making AL, used to comment mainly from a guest account or PMs from what I remember. Didn't come across as arrogant or rude at all. Just excited and dead set on making what he wanted to make which aren't remotely bad things. Now he received a very negative reaction from a certain event in AL, including a few absolute mongs sending him abuse and death threats which was beyond ridiculous and not remotely deserved. But he's behavior didn't change after that which would've been very understandable.

It only changed after BAD became a big hit because shocker guy gets rich and changes. Then came the arrogance, seemingly arbitrary bans for shit like mild criticism and he's sudden hateboner against pirates and F95 in particular etc. All of which is going to rub people the wrong way considering the majority of his patrons were from here and likely still are.

I know DPC can be a mercurial SOB, but this--as you describe it--seems unlikely. There has to be more to it, if he indeed blocked you. Maybe you said something about Josy/Maya being great and then asked about mod support?

In DAZ lighting settings you can increase the number of points from which the light will be reflected to enhance Path Tracing, but knowing the DPC it will come up with something else, for example, render everything in 4K


He could have benefited from simply spending more time working on static renders to make them prettier with additional effects setup. Specifying the light geometry as a disk or cylinder instead of a point source greatly improves the quality of shadows, and DoF makes the image more voluminous. He should have focused on eliminating minor flaws rather than making pointless improvements. Since he working like a manufactory posing ~200 statics per week, He often ignores the shortcomings.

Let's be honest and objective, the use of lighting in BaD is really sloppy and amateurish. It could have been okay in 2018 but from a flagship product that generates record revenue, one would expect something better, at least to see a minimum effort in placing the lights in a decent way (and clothes as well).

You rightly say that its primary goal is to mass produce a large quantity in the shortest possible time so he does not really care about improving the quality. Maybe that's the best choice for his business. It is also possible that only a few of us are able to notice these shortcomings in the images, because I have read rather embarrassing enthusiastic comments about them, especially on Reddit (on F95 I think many more people are able to "read" an image, probably due to the fact that we have seen many VNs and good fan art).
