It could also be that DPC is going from 16 EPs to 18-20 EPs, with the justification that he wants to shorten the development times for 1 EP.
I’ll give 20-1 on this. I’m not sure he’d make a big announcement of it, but it may be something that he does in the future.

Also likely, given that it's popular among AVN developers right now. But I still don't understand this decision from a business point of view. There will be a lot of high-profile novelties at the beginning of the year and its release will be simply unnoticeable against the background of these novelties. The last time it was released on Steam it became popular largely because it had no competition among the big games.
Presuming 11 releases March, so the Steam would be April/ May I don’t think there would be to much issue with this. He may be thinking that with a 15 month development time it will take until June 2026 for episode 12. He may be thinking that 4.5 years is too long and better to keep the hype on steam. Also worth remembering the amount of content will be comparable to S1 or S2 with only 3.5 episodes.

It's just that he said specifically about season 3 and that he's making some changes to the game to make it happen.

Second option. He has a deal with an artist who will create assets for him. He won't influence the work, just do 3d models for him to his specifications. For example, DPC says that he needs a certain model of a bus for a trip out of town, and those that are available in the DAZ store do not suit him.
Third option. He has found an investor for his game. I do not know why and how, but someone will help him with money and he will no longer depend on patreon.
3D artist is a good idea, I’ll give you 10-1 for that. He’s probably a bit to self important to give up any creative control though.
I think the investor is possible, but would only really make sense if it were to actually form some sort of studio, otherwise not sure the value DPC would gain.
