Yep, and that apply to the big Josy/Maya drama, that is simply happens because of not honest communication. Yeah Yeah Maya has a reason to keep a secret, but the whole drama would have not happen if she say, " I am in a relationship " . instead of the : " I tell the boys that I am in a relationship so they leave me alone, and you should not develop feelings toward me either "

Josy at least in this case was a bit more honest, so MC kind of a hypocrite who despite knowing this still decide to Fuck her, and then later bitching about "Cheating"

But then again, Josy and Maya never talk about why MC was upset in a first place , until MC confront them.

as has it been said, many times during that era, this was always poorly crafted and badly executed drama.

and frankly he did not improve that much in this aspect in the future, just think of the whole Jill , Tybalt blackmail storyline, what only one saving grace was that at least Bella was funny in it.

On top of that Derek also knew about Josie and not once did he tell our MC that
A. He is barking up The wrong tree
B. She has a girlriend

I know DPC has said he has some sort of bible and knows where he's going, but a few times I just get the feeling he's adding random ideas for the sake of it.

drama is important. if in the end of the game of thrones, Darth Vader come and kill everyone would be drama? yes. would be good? no. drama isnt enough, need to build it up. if you drop in Darth Vader or Sage's name or some shit with Maya and Jojo what i never will understand what was mc's problem then these things wont be dramatic.

but if you build the drama like Rio's kidnap...
nobody complained about it or called plot hole or something. it was enough well upbuilded.

well , Maya's whole loan story is also full of logically questionable things. and I do think he just making his own work harder, by also creating so many variables. and overall the plot does not moved much forward over the last 5 year, and 10 episode.

I feel like he was peaked during the whole Hell Week era, and since then he is struggling

He certainly can shine during comedic scenes, or lewd scenes, or scenes that lead to lewd. like the whole scene with Rio and MC in Rio room, where MC is messing with her stuff, it is a well crafted and build up scene, the same way as it has a nice build up to an eventual Sally sex scenes

However, when it's come to drama, think about the whole Josy/maya thing. In the whole episode MC constantly bitching about how he was " betrayed ". .Literally the whole narrative tells you it is better for him to stay away from them.

Even before you get the choice to decide what as a player you want, HE ranting about, how dating with others was good for him, and need to focus on himself etc etc, and Derek was there for him and opened his eye etc, it's kind of a whole mess of a speech, and then " HEy I want more with both of you "

and then we get the tip of iceberg with the shity affinity system, because uh-huh , all the major decision you made up until this point that has nothing to do with the girls, will gonna determine whether you succed or not.

I would gladly like to talk about all of this with DPC in a serious conversation, but we know how that goes

I think DPC can write drama, with one exception, when said drama is directly related to the affinity system.

I chug it up to that specifically, having to rely on an affinity system makes the whole sitation "gamey" and it's hard (if not impossible) to create believable drama when the strings are out in the open.
