I like Zoey, I wouldn't even be pissed at her for leaving the way she did. I'd be pissed at her for pushing Me/MC out of her life with no discussion, text messages, social media and email exist no excuse to not keep in touch at least occasionally.

There's a somewhat similar reaction when Maya tells her that she kissed MC, and that it "felt real". I don't think Sage would hold it against either girl, but the kiss with Maya might bother her more than the sex with Cammy.
Zoey is a weird character for sure. After thinking for some time I guess it makes sense why most people hate her. Her cutting tremolo off from her life when she was in san diego is the biggest anomaly. I guess it can be explained by saying she didn't love you romantically at that time, and a lot of friendships do end up like that after each party stays far away for quite some time. I guess the only conclusion is that she's a bad friend, and has to make up for what she did in the future episodes. What I like about her is that she didn't fuck around during that time.
it's easier for the player to sympathise with her, he knows she got shit advice to cut him off, MC doesn't.

True. But her being callous in her texts then simply not responding is a bit different than that. He HAD to accept that she moved on. It was eating him alive. As he mentions checking his phone for her texts all the time. It wasn't healthy. I'd imagine it went something like this.
Callous? Could you be more specific, because she tried to express her happiness at the time and MC would not "share in her joy" according to her. MC is the kind of guy to say "I'm fine" when he's hurting, and Zoey doesn't like to talk about feelings. She notices that they're drifting apart before deciding to cut him off for good, and I can see why.
That kind of thinking is ultimately self-destructive and just shifts the blame.
Sage also knows you just recently picked her over a campus full of other women throwing themselves your way. She's got no reason to worry about you ditching her, and the potential of (more) threesomes in future.
