has cbt (dpc) ever addressed why he refuses to hire people to help him with at least shit like posing and rendering scenes?
or does he just say that he's a "perfectionist" and doesn't trust other people to have any control over his "masterpiece"?
he ain't beating the milker allegations with this one
Here we go again.

The amount of work DPC puts out in a single release is more than just about any other dev puts out in x number of releases in the same timespan.

One can argue that the story can be planned and written in such a way so as to chop up a single release into 2, maybe even 3 releases. That is a valid argument. (For the record, I'm firmly in this camp.)

And the fact that you think the "perfectionist" argument is flawed is very indicative of how you don't understand what is involved in creating a game. Anybody who thinks hiring more people will make things go faster has no clue how project management works. You are simply trading in a creative process (something DPC enjoys) for a boring and tedious process (something DPC doesn't enjoy at all).

What one can't legitimately say is that this is a milking issue. What it is, is a bunch of crybabies that think the world revolves around them and they are entitled to get what they want when they want it issue.

He's not milking it, he's overdoing it. Unfortunately there's a very good chance him doing whatever he feels like instead of keeping it neat and tight is why he enjoys it (and it shows he enjoys it), so that's what we get.

I don't disagree. In fact, there isn't just a very good chance DPC is doing that, but he's been on the record stating he's doing exactly that. Since the days of AL, DPC has outright said he'll games the way he wants, not just the story but also the process, regardless of what other people says. So he's been consistent from day 1. It's really nothing new on that front.

Good on you for still having some hope but prepare yourself for having that crushed. Between all the story threads and all the branching we're not going to get any significantly smaller episodes until things start getting wrapped up.

It's called his ego, and rumour has it can be seen from space on cloudless days
What kind of idiot would share money with others?
we gotta make high quality porn games more mainstream so that he has ACTUAL competition and shit like this wouldn't fly without him losing supporters

Look! The newbs are shitposting again. It must be that time of the year. I love how they think they know how someone should create their own game. And they must be socialists, right? Piracy is a form of communism, right? No money, shared among peers? Not only do they want to steal his shit, but they want to direct production. (n)(n)(n)

Don't do that shit!
It has nothing to do with communism, socialism or whatever else, take that snowflake shit elsewhere.
Pirating is a crime, end of story. But this site isn't based on pirating, if anything this place is the perfect cesspool for beta testers. As well as spreading the word about their works. Sure many don't give anything in return for playing some title somewhere, but there are plenty of us on here who actually do end up buying these titles once we've dipped our feet into the proverbial pond.

Keep the political crap out of it, thank you very fucking much!

Sure, it's a creative process, no one is denying that part, however to say that getting hired help for at least posing/making renders makes the development of the game "boring and tedious" is just unreasonable, it doesn't limit creativity in any way as long as you're still the only person making the final decisions on how a scene looks and feels (wow, communication!).

When implemented in such a way, the dev can use less of his development time and attention on rendering/posing/modeling/animating and instead focus on things such as writing/coding/branching etc. And i agree with you on the fact that project management can really make development tedious, BUT for that to happen you need to have 2+ people to manage, which would be overkill in this case.

What this is a case of, is the dev being overly comfortable with the fact that his supporters won't leave him (which would be good if he was actually TRYING to optimize his game development time). Don't get me wrong, I understand that keeping creative freedom is crucial in developing a game as good and as big as this one, I, however, do NOT understand when even the slightest attempt at sacrificing your own comfort ( and that's exactly what this is, *comfort*, not creative freedom) comes at the cost of increasing times between updates to ludicrous amounts.

Perfectionism is a complicated subject. Just because perfection is desired doesn't mean there is enough talent to achieve it. Or resources. Or time. Sooner or later you have to accept something as good enough.

That's the polite way to talk about it. The nasty thing to point out that every perfectionist is a control freak. They are incapable of delegating. If they don't experience the limits first hand they won't accept anything as good enough.

I suffer from perfectionism too. Evert time I poo I have to get it right in the center of the bowl, and if I don't I shove it back up my ass and try again. Sometimes I'm there all day. I never stop until I get it just right though.

This is 100%, absolutely a pirate site. Some developers do engage here. Big indies like DPK do not, and he and his mods ban anyone he catches here (yes, refusing their monthly money, too).

"Sharing" software without permission is piracy, and stealing, and is illegal. Period. It doesn't matter if there's no cost involved in acquiring the software to begin with, if it's not freeware, you can't upload it without permission. Some hobby projects are posted here by the developers or with their permission, but this right here is not one of those games. Using a political word legitimately is not crap. Thinking paid software is yours for the taking is either Communism or Theft, but those labels are all in the eye of the beholder. One of the posts I quoted even called DPK greedy, and doesn't want to share his money. I'm, the one being political? Don't be a hypocrite.

I am not a hypocrite. I am posting on this forum, and download from here all the time. I also buy games on Steam or GoG or Itch.io, including this one. I just don't have the patience to wait for updates on those channels.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Joking aside, I hope you enjoy the game. I worked my ass off to create this and boy this is expensive.

I need funding to complete this project.

If you can't afford to donate on Patreon, you can still show support by liking or reviewing the game.

Cheers

I get the feeling you haven't done the math here. You ignore how big a BADIK episode is. If you take the numbers and divide by time you get a work by month average. DPC produces more than one scene per month. Compare that to the devs whose update times are more "reasonable". How many months do they take for one scene? The guy is fast. Your demands for him to be even faster are what is truly ludicrous here.

If you really want the game in monthly instalments, you can do the dividing yourself. Download the game and when you get a scene, take a month long break. Ep 12 will probably be out by the time you are done. But you aren't going to do that, because what you are really complaining about is him not making the game faster than you can play it.
