Yeah but that game wasn't the cash cow that BADIK is, doing something like that is a risk, he's not going to risk it.

AL has around 5k reviews on Steam, Being a DIK has 11k reviews. I doubt he won't risk it if he only has twice the amount of reviews. It's not like BaDIK dwarves AL (at least on Steam).

Exactly, it could also ruined the progress of the story if dpc suddenly kills Riona. There should be a build up to it on the story. DPC could insert a crossroad on the story were there is 2 possible outcome. Successfully rescuing Riona and failing in rescuing her. Where if mc failed in the rescue Riona will be killed

I would love that, that we at least have a possibility to save her if he decides to kill her off, no matter how difficult it will be.
That makes me also wonder if failing at the Bailey's just means that we get an extra scenario where we always get her documents, or that it will have massive implications for the reminder of her story (I doubt it)

I think there was a discussion to this topic before. If my memory serves me right, they discuss that Derek will probably manage to get the document one way or the other because it was mention that if there will be 2 different outcome in the main story it would take dpc a longer time in the game development.

You mix this up with victim blaming, but it is not. Just simple logic. The money of supporters makes it possible for the dev to develop continuously without losses. They are the regulators if a dev can do it, or cannot. If the flow of money stops, the dev will have to adjust. Not the supporter, but the dev. So in the end, while the dev does the work, the supporter is the one enabling it and thus has the most "power" in this relationship. Logically, if a dev gets bold, lazy whatever, the supporter can stop supporting him, signaling, that changes are needed. It is here, that the model fails, because most supporters are gullible, weak people, who are so addicted to the given product, that they can't come up with the balls to show who is the boss and support the bad behavior further, despite not being content. Thus, development times increase more and more. In some cases, the amount of content won't increase, or even decrease. Luckily, DPC is the type who makes bigger updates with more time given, at least so far. This update will show, if I err or not.
