with 2 years to wait i wouldn't be racking my brain about who will be ‘the final monster’, before chapter 11 we all thought Vinnie was the threat and not Buddy. i think Buddy has used up his role and may as well disappear, while Vinnie has a lot more points of contact with the story so i think he still has something to say

Like I said, chances are pretty likely he knows the police are coming because he's listening to police radio using a scanner. I don't know how easy they are to get in the US when you're a criminal, but in Europe they are pretty common to buy for everyone.
