So I was digging around in the code a bit more for the Party Planner and while some of the tooltips mention that Activities boost your Grade, I don't think it's ever specifically explained how.So, I happen to really enjoy the Party Planner mini-game and have spent quite a bit of time trying to find good setups for every possible layout. I might eventually write up a guide at some point, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
In the meantime, since Episode 11 Xmas party planner seems to be the most challenging yet and I've seen quite a few people requesting setups, here's a collection of some that I've found for all the possible random grids in Episode 11. I managed to find at least one 6.5x for every grid, and some grids had options for higher multipliers (up to 7.25x for exactly one grid).

Hopefully some people find these helpful. If anyone knows of any better layouts, I'd love it if you shared it with me!
Obviously, you get points added to you Activity score for each. It's 1,000 base points for each activity that isn't the "basic" one on the right column, which already makes it worthwhile picking something for all 3 since after your (hopefully) 6.5x or higher multiplier that's 6.5K+ points for each activity.
But it ends up that the number of activities you have that aren't the "base" ones directly influences you grade too even after Points are checked. If you have 3 Activities, it increases it 1 rank (for example, it would bump an A-Rank up to S-Rank). If you have 2 Activities, it has no effect. If you have only 1 Activity, it drops your Rank by 1 grade and if you have 0 Activities it drops it by 2 grades. That means it's impossible to S-Rank with fewer than 2 Activities above the base level regardless of what your score is.
TL;DR: It's essentially never worth dropping an activity to the base level (right column) if your goal is to S-Rank. You're costing yourself essentially 6.5K points and a whole Rank grade every time you drop an Activity to the base level.
