Yeah, the board is randomly chosen at the very start of each Episode (even before the story recap).

Same with your starting inventory and starting DIK happiness at the very start of Episode 9.

Why exactly do you believe there should be negative consequences here? This isn't Aesop's fable. This is also not a realistic story by a long shot (re: the discussion about how dumb it is for all the MGs to potentially keep together, never mind all the other stupid bits and pieces) so why hooking up with older woman is supposed to be a rare exception?

Hooking up with an older woman isn't the problem, hooking up with a teacher and/or married woman is. No it isn't a realistic story, but it also isn't a story that is only about sex and nothing else, that has been made clear since the beginning.
I always go into an AVN that goes deeper than "from fuck to fuck" expecting any choices knowingly or unknowingly might bite me in the ass later, because I've already seen that with a lot of other AVN's.

Given it is a choice between consenting adults it is, at worst, morally questionable. But a lot of people engage in these things without any actual negative consequences. So why should this have guaranteed negative consequences in every single case where you take part in it?

No it isn't a realistic story, but it also isn't a story that is only about sex and nothing else, that has been made clear since almost the beginning.

Being more about just sex doesn't mean that "something else" must be punishments for the player for engaging in "wrong" kind of sex. The something else could just as well be getting away with engaging in that "wrong" sex.

That's not even mentioning that "consequences for having sex" is still a story about sex, than anything else. So if the story is supposed to be about more than just sex, this is a pretty poor way to go about it.

I'd say "paradigm shift" does apply to Quinn too because she's had to upend the life she was leading and go against her Dad, in some sense, by ratting out Buddy. It's a huge shift for her character and story because now, with them gone (at least for now, probably), she won't be slinging drugs anymore and it also seems as though the restaurant may be over as well or at least paused, possibly by Burke. The whole situation seems it has changed her because she realises how much she's wronged Rio, her only true friend, and she wants to do right by her, to try and make it right, so she does the one thing that seems most obvious and that's get the police involved. So in a way, this was her asking for help because that's literally what calling the police is.

This could come back on Rio, maybe, if they (Buddy, Mick, Vinny) think it could have been her or her Mom who phoned the police, but it could also put a target on Lily's back too since Vinny just threatened her. But I suspect Quinn made sure all the guys were inside before calling the police and I think that at least Buddy and Mick were arrested, Vinny may escape and so he may be the one coming for retribution and right now I'd put money on him going more for Lily than Rio.

I once played a famous game. There was a choice that led to unexpected consequences and often you wanted to do the best, but your actions would led to terrible consequences. How could I know that the desire to save children from witches by releasing the spirit of the forest would lead to the nearest village being exterminated by this spirit, and Baron Philip Stenger would hang himself from grief, because the witches would turn his wife Anna into a monster. Or that the decision to save the sorcerers from Novigrad would lead to another witch hunt, only this time against other minorities.
Was I angry, upset about this? No. Such is life. An action that seems right and innocent to you can lead to sad consequences. DPC games are like that. A seemingly ordinary action can backfire on you. And this distinguishes BaDIK and AL from thousands of other wanking games and one of the reasons why the game stands out from the rest.

I disagree with your first point. Imo Quinn not using tremolo's naive generosity and whiteknightery IS the paradigm shift.

Rex would have told her to use tremolo as her pawn and to sacrifice him if necessary which she did not. Quinn keeping the mc out of her "game" is the shift in her behavior, she used rio like a pawn and look where she ended up.

This is serious bullshit with guns and torture involved and the mc is just some small village boy at this point even when he can fight. He would be in grave danger of being hurt or killed and even if everything magically would work out flawlessly with his help, she would have involved him in serious illegal shit which could ruin his life.

I think we can stop pretending that Quinn didn't involve the MC in this because the plot doesn't allow for the MC in every route to be involved in this at this point in the game. Quinn not involving the MC has nothing to do with the 'kindness' that exists in Quinn's heart. You know it and I know it.

MC will be dragged into this shit eventually and probably the ticket to this shit will be Tommy who apparently has money problems (owing someone something) due to his drug addiction.
