As if the support for cheating dad was not bad enough i was willling to focus on the positives of that POV. and trust me it was not easy to find the way to be optimistic about supporting dad divorcing your mom but i did my best. By divorcing josy mom dad made him, his new partner, and seemingly josy happy (comparatively speaking as she would probably be less happy if her parents remained in jaded marriage and constantly fighting), while only person being heartbroken is josy mom

A rarity for me, but at this point I would say a few words in defense on this. We don't know exactly what led to Pete dumped Iris and choose to Monica. But you can guess from meeting Iris on phone during Josy date. She is toxic and cold person with inflated demands on others, a typical corporate bitch. I can imagine a relationship with her and Pete one day saying "enough is enough!". And I can't blame Josy for taking her dad side, apparently she had the warmest relationship with him. I assume that her mother regularly bullied Josy, becoming the cause, or one of the causes - of her self-doubt.
It's a choice of comfort, if one of your parents treats you badly, you won't want to stay with them. Imagine getting negative comments about your height from your mother, and maybe those type of comments were regular. I can't say she was happy in the new family, knowing her tense relationship with Monica. But people like Iris, I personally prefer to stay away from them.

to be honest i never liked Josy. she is just full of red flags for me and every time i learn something new about her or i see her do something different/new i feel more inclined to metaphorically move to other side of street.

Did you meet Josy's mom? It is quite easy to see why Josy chose her dad, and why her dad cheated.

Her Mom is basically DPC's version of Miranda Priestly.

We haven't seen much of her, but what we've seen shows her to be very career driven, and pretty unpleasant, even to her daughter.

It is likely part of the reason for Josy's insecurities.

Those "few" scenes disprove her "happy" persona for me, ^ and this is just one of many examples for why that is the case. you and everyone else is more than free to treat josy character as "yes she is most happy of all girls and just happens to be sad sometimes". its all about interpretations and from beginning i keep saying josy just hit all the wrong perspectives for me and trigger all the red flags.

Can you specify what exactly you mean when you say maya was cheating.
the way i see it, maya tells mc not to fall in love with her. when he offers to share the bed, even if it was just an obvious joke she instantly push him on the ground, the thought did not even cross her mind. Meanwhile josy invites mc to sleep together in her parents bed. Two simply cant be compared.
Yes maya does have feelings for MC but she tries hard to stay faithful to josy, josy simply doesnt do the same, in fact josy shoes more signs of feeling bad that she is in relationship because it hinders her chances to be with mc rather than feeling bad about cheating.

Do you maybe by cheating refer to hazing? the list of things quinn forced maya to do that mc helps with? cause if that is what you talk about then ok, that is lowkey cheating cause it does involve things that is considered cheating even if it is "forced" upon maya. i will give you that, i am just curious to know if i am forgeting a more serious "cheating" scene that proves me wrong or if this is it.

well this is kind of a stretch, isnt it? was it josy who went and stole the papers? was it josy who used her connections of being burke's daughter to find information? did she at least go with maya derek and mc and pretend to be dereks girlfriend to help distract mayas dad in order to assist MC in his search for papers... no wait that was sage. burke thing is also sage... i dont know how is this possible, i keep rememebring all these things that are done yet josy did none of them so how is josy that did everything? im confused

I would never say jade is innocent or in the right, its just that i dislike stephen more because we know he cheated too yet one day he just wakes up and decides enough is enough and now he takes the moral high ground that he does not deserve.

If he divorced and then found someone else it would be completely different story

I don't condone cheating, but I don't want to judge Pete without knowing the backstory. As Josy herself said, she understands the reasons, and most likely everything was very bad there. And I can't draw parallels with Stephen, because Pete is a really good guy, unlike the corrupt and rotten Burke. Both are responsible for the problems in Stephen/Jade relationship, because these people didn't work together, their personalities were too incompatible. But I have some sympathy for Jade. She put her family above all else.

Can't say the same, because I got an extremely negative impression from Iris.

i understand where you coming from, i am just more objective in the sense that it doesnt matter how bad you are, you are still the victim. i dont like jade as character, but just cause i dont like her character does not mean that i am going to read the part where stephen who is just as bad suddenly files divorce and screws jade over for things that he too is doing.
The same way just because i dont like josy's mom does not mean i will just be cool with the fact pete cheated.

let me use real life reference. While ago there was this situation where someone shot and killed a CEO of healthcare. and CEO was asshole, corrupt and by no means good guy. some would even say he had it coming. I still dont think that justifies murder in the same way iris being a bitch does not justify cheating.
