Too early

The only interesting thing is that he is apparently working differently than usual starting with the bigger scenes.

December 2026 if all goes well
Well, he already mentioned in his first couple of updates that he was working on his bigger scenes. He also told this in the update of last week.

And that's the only interesting thing he said. The first time it could have been a chance, but instead he now explains that it is his choice.

Part of the pitfall of regular updates is that some times you just have to give a bunch of vague updates. Hell, there's definitely a bunch of weeks where he's probably still working on a lot of the same stuff from the previous dev-update.

They can't all be super interesting and appetite whetting, and if you've built the expectation of giving an update regularly... well, you gotta put out something.

If he's not only rendering but also coding his bigger scenes at the start, I agree that could speed up the progress a lot. This gives him much more time for bugfixing, for which the chance is higher with bigger than smaller scenes.

Last two development cycles his reports feels so empty. No numbers of finished renders/animations, no passion, it just feels : blah blah blah, I'm working on the game.
There always was a discussions after his Friday reports, now the thread is empty.
I think the game will slowly die, I see all the signs of that.
I mean it won't die itself, but the interest in it is quietly fading and it will be hard for DPC to maintain constant interest with 2 years of updates.
Anyway even I have lost all interest in the game.
There are games that are worth waiting for - The Witcher 4, Cyberpunk 2 or something like that, but this game does not belong to this category.
I respect the fans and the guys here, but I can see the interest in the game fading. You can see it in the posts on reddit where there are fewer and fewer of them and this forum.
I hope he finishes the game so I can play it again after 5 or 6 years.
And now I don't even have the desire to play it again.

There is less interest because the latest update released 3 months ago, so there is little left to talk about. There will be a massive spike again about 1-2 months before the next update is expected. Also don't forget that after the next update this season will also be released on Steam, which will increase the amount of interest even more.

Until it in development, I'm gonna stay and play, but without previous engagement level - not possible for me to hanging all the time like usually and not burnout with this long schedules. Plus, thanks to BaDIK i found a really dope people who has became irl friends (no kidding), and maybe find more, so it still can be useful.
Can't agree that game is dying - his Patreon numbers are at the same 13k plateau, means that game is still gathering the new audience to replace the people who left. And this is most important, game is still popular, bring him money.
As for the thread here, new people comes every year, which proves my word. Can't say this place is dead.
But I can agree with you, hard to keep engaged for long.

And honestly, there's no need to be. Being engaged constantly made sense when the updates were coming quicker. The longer it takes for a game to update, the less need or want there is to be constantly engaged with it. Same goes for novel series, TV series, comics, movies, etc.

And thats totally fine.

The idea that you gotta be engaged all the time or its somehow a stain on the product or means the product is dying is really kinda silly.

Exactly. Personal feelings don't affect the state of the project, if someone says that the project is dying because he lost interest - he simply lost interest. And the world didn't converge on BaDIK, it's just a game, a good game that works in terms of escapism from reality, but still a game. If someone is tired, then it's worth taking a break and doing something else.
Tons of good games and hobbies to get involved with.

Also, saying the game is slowing down is a pretty misleading statement. Slowing yes, but to use this thread as a metric, there are almost 360K posts and who knows how many have been removed. A year ago it was less than 300K. Now it's not always on topic, but there are quite a few active games on this site that have been in development for well over a year and their threads haven't gotten past 10K total.

BADIK slowing down? Yes, it's now running triple marathons in the time it takes others to put their running shoes on. It used to do quadruple.

There are a lot of new releases from game studios planned for 2026. DPC got lucky with the release of Season 2 on Steam, which was during the gaming lull, and it became famous by hitting the Steam charts. That's not going to happen now.
I also remember the release of episodes 8 and 9. The hype was incredible.
The hype gets less and less with each episode.

The number of patrons means next to nothing. How many patrons does Summer Saga have? Way more than DPС, but the game is long dead.
It's barely talked about, they know it's there and that's it. Iсstor has a lot of subscribers too, but the forum about this game only discusses Icstor himself.
It feels like the peak of Being A Dik is long gone. The third season is disappointingly empty and gray. DPC has nothing to offer but dumb drama on nothing.
As for the newcomers, how long will they stick around after realizing the next release is 2 years away?

Not entirely true about it not hitting the charts. People who love playing AVNs (and maybe everyone who has adult content active) will almost certainly still get it shown among their "New & Trending" window and on top in the "featured & recommended" banner. Also don't forget it will still show up for people who search for Visual Novels, especially considering this will be published as a new game and not DLC. The hype gets less with each episode, but it will go up again when season 3 will be released.

Season 1 was a hit already, season 2 just as well. Many if not most people want to continue to follow the story, so I'm pretty sure at least 60-70%of the people who own S2 and are still alive, will also buy S3.

Hey guys, after I load a freeroam save I can't interract with anything. Is there a way to fix this problem?

If you load into one of the later freeroams, first travel by shortcut in the lower right. Otherwise you need to load a previous save during a dialogue.

It's barely talked about, how is that expressed? If you're talking about this place, then you don't follow the thread, it's still the most active place on F95 with 10 new pages every new day, (the thread is empty - I meant no one discusses the status update because it's not informative) but for some reason you decided that I meant that the game is dead, although that's not what I wanted to say.
You can see Roger's post about this, and it's true:

So it's wrong, as Roger said, game is discussed.

Don't know about his Discord, fun unoficcial D&H is full of life. Fan-art thread is alive than ever. Creating art is another indicator that the game is alive, moreover, you post the works yourself.
I can't agree about Season 3. It became deeper, more serious, with an emphasis on the characters, the development of personal relationships and their story arcs. My subjective evaluation criterion puts Episodes 10-11 at the top, close to the best 7-8 episodes. The game changed the theme a little to the dark side, as he warned. Overall, I prefer Season 3 as more serious, compared to the 1-2, but I wish it was faster. Moreover, Season 3 starting to answer questions, not creating the new ones.
