Respectful question for the countless ardent fans of this incredibly popular game, including DrPinkCake himself. This is not an attempt to troll or offend. I simply have personal tastes that differ, and I'm curious if any of you can explain your tastes to me so that I may understand. I'm very much into "girl next door" types, or simple, authentic, cute, natural, fresh-faced, unadorned females--basically the opposite of everyone in this game, as far as I can tell. Obviously, these issues carry over to other games and much of society, but I'm asking here because this game is so popular and this thread is well-attended.

While I don't expect anybody to go through all of these, please pick whichever ones you'd like to speak to. What do you find appealing about:

* extremely heavy makeup that gives an unnatural look and obscures the face underneath
* painted-on eyebrows
* long fake fingernails with unnatural colors
* fake eyelashes
* facial piercings
* heavy tattooing
* unnaturally colored hair
* half-shaved heads
* bone structure that gives a severe, unfriendly look
* general vibes of jadedness, deadness, inauthenticity, severity, unnaturalness, invulnerability, and a sort of relative soullessness (as opposed to an innocent, full, fresh, present, lively, and whole-some energetic)

Some of those observations are objective and some are obviously subjective, but I'm just trying to articulate as best I can what I'm noticing and what I'm trying to understand. Thank you.

The only response I’m going to qualify here is that much of the world has moved on from vanilla. Many, if not most people like variety. The same vanilla all the time gets to be bland and boring. The very point of these multi-path stories is to explore different branches and scenarios. Things you can’t or wouldn’t necessarily try in real life. If you get stuck on one thing you are going to miss much of what most of these stories have to offer. This AVN spoke to me because I personally identified with and recognized most of the character types in it. I grew to “care “about characters I didn’t particularly find attractive because of their personalities (through DPC’s writing). I actually found that whatever surface-level cosmetic “flaws” disappeared the more I grew to like the characters. But, then again, I’m one of those folk that likes variety. Sometimes, vanilla is nice, but add some toppings or another flavor and the experiences are limitless!

Vanilla differs per person. In current times, to many anal is vanilla, to many threesomes are vanilla, to some watersports is vanilla, to others vanilla still doesn't go beyond vaginal fucking and blowjobs.

My point is that Mel doesn't know Chad is gay. I haven't seen any real reason to think that any but five people (or seven) know about Chad and Troy. The two themselves, MC, Sage and Josy if MC tells them, Magnar who is using it against him and Ron who is involved in the scheme. Some other tri-betas might know, but I'm inclined to think they don't because the knowledge would be all over campus.

I obviously need to be more detailed here. Mel has a crush on Chad but he is in a relationship with Sage so she is trapped in the friend-zone. But as even a deaf bat would realise Sage's and Chad's relationship is not going well so Mel has hope. She is on the look out for the inevitable break up so she can move in. The thing is that in spite of this she does think of Sage as a friend and doesn't want her to be hurt, so with Sarah's help she is trying to get the timing right. So Sage is right in suspecting Mel and Sarah. It's just that Mel hasn't actually succeeded in getting in his pants, where Sage though she or Sarah was straight up fucking him.

Eventually Mel is going to be Chad's next beard and she'll be just as much in the dark as Sage was. If Sage knows that Chad is gay she will blow up at him rather than at Mel. If she doesn't know she'll blow up at Mel and Sarah. If Sage doesn't know but Josy does she will have to intervene and Sage will blow up at MC because he told Josy but not her. But regardless of who knows Sage will have to face the reality that practically none of the sisters believe in not turning against each other and that's why Maya or Josy will be the next president. I'd say Maya is more likely, but Josy is very much a possibility.

If you think I'm wrong answer me this: Why was Chad at the HOT's party? He had marvellous excuses to skip it and spend the evening with Troy. Sage didn't want him there and he was no longer a member of the tri-alphas. If Mel and Sarah knew about him and Troy why insist on inviting him? When they did Chad had to go because the tri-alphas would have been suspicious if he didn't. They effectively cock-blocked him with the invite.

My answer is that Mel and Sarah don't know that Chad is gay and they invited him to the party so that Mel would have an opportunity. Sage would have gotten mad if she caught them, but she wasn't his girlfriend anymore and Mel had to consider the risk of some other girl moving in.

I'm not anticipating this confrontation in the next episode. It's season 4 plot. I see the Mel/Chad as something that happens just before the drugs and prostitution comes to light. It might even be what starts the chain that brings them to light. Either way Sage is going to EXPLODE.
