Hard to tell what Zoey's thinking about. To me she looks rather cheerful than sad, anticipating MC's arrival, though it could very well be the other way. Or both. Based on the preview and outfit poll, it seems like she's also back to normal body proportions after the panty party. I wonder if DPC will ever admit the error and fix the renders. I'm also noticing he has some trouble keeping the nipple piercings in the correct position.

Honestly it depends on Reddit it seems like there are a massive amount of Quinn fans and they are annoying, here it there are some but they aren't annoying here. Zoey fans are mostly just annoying in general especially the ones who want her to join the DIK's IMO

Most polarising and controversial is Quinn, for sure. She does a lot of bad things, even though she realizes that she is doing evil and wants to fix the situation when reality hits her. But at the same time she's fun, good written and is the image of a bad girl, which is adored by many. Quinn fights was always a big part of Special Olympics here.

Zoey polarised is made up, the arguments of most of the hate don't stand up to criticism and are made-up. But she was hated by half of the thread after the Interlude, it was temporary.

Other honorable mentions of controversy:
Maya. A lot of people hate her loan story, the image of a "damsel in distress" who needed rescuing and who did nothing to help herself, relying on others. The prolonged loan arc began to irritate many people. Because of this, she was sometimes demolished by plot devices. And also fights beetween Quinn and Maya stans was very heat, some members get permabanned.

Jill. She was the subject of memes and ridicule for a long time here. People mocked her naivety, her Disney princess image, and her weird change pf personality from season to season. Her smile was always mocked, people called her a goblin and a raccoon for it. This was popular among OGs from the 2020-2023 era, but after their retirement, it became minimal. Jill's white knights caused quite a few wars here. Last big mockery of Jill was because of banana costume, it created hundreds of memes [guilty as charged]

And for the last... well...Josy. The last waifu war. After Episode 10, people's opinions of Josy [guilty Again] soured. Because of her obsession with MC, the pillow fight in her hotel room, her constant drama queen, lack of story and personality, her identity crisis... Josy was criticized. This didn't sit well with some of her fans, who went REEEEEEE, and things got heated for a while, he-he.

That's the wars I know, maybe there were some less significant ones that I missed.

If I were to take this too seriously: key word(s) "at the moment", neither IMO. Like, maybe Zoey got a lot of shit after her coming back, and Quinn [educated guess] got more constant hate since she was there from the beginning. But I don't think they are at the moment. They'd be wrong to hate Her Holiness but that's just me

On the one hand I think its gonna be "her episode", big reveal and huge for her future development. We will uncover her past trauma and hopefully set her on the path towards healing.

On the other hand, its probably gonna be very emotionally heavy and quite a downer for a lot of the episode. I see the impact of the "locked room" permeating throughout the whole episode.

Still gonna play her route first because the reveal, whatever it is, will probably only really matter on her route.

It should be the best route in episode 12 but only time will tell...Sage could run in with the steel chair and take the crown once more.

3. Bella gets a call saying he is MIA
4. Bella has a miscarriage
5. Bella acts like she is still married and is waiting for James to come back to "fix" everything
6. The locked room is a nursery

Its very morbid and a bit complicated but its what I will stick with for now.

You aren't another one of those people who skimmed through the Interlude once 3 years ago when it was first released and then make stuff up in their heads, are you?

While writing the very long response you might've noticed that you've said very similar themes to what I summarised but in more words. I'll post what you said and then at the end the bit it more or less matches my summary to:

Zoey didn't move away for any relationship reasons. She moved away because she wanted to chase her dreams like most young adults at her age do. Would you prohibit your partner from studying something far away if it's the only way to learn the necessary skills? If you're a reasonable person then not, right? Plus, Zoey was mourning and wanted to make her grandmother proud. It had nothing to do with Zoey not being interested in their relationship. She even asked the MC to come with her. (she moved away when things were getting serious in a way she really wasn't interested in)

I didn't say that Zoey was evil for doing it, but the characterisation from the Interlude is that she put more emphasis on chasing her dreams than whatever she had with MC. IIRC she even mentions during the Interlude how she didn't regard it as serious as she presumes Fuckface did.

Zoey also wasn't happy to forget about the MC. Things were awkward between them due to the MC's drama queen behavior and lack of support and it was Bret who ill-advised the inexperienced girl to cut down on communication, but Zoey still kept thinking about him. If you paid attention to her thoughts, memories and diary entries, you'd notice how deeply Zoey's always cared about the MC. It wasn't a baseless declaration in ep11 that she's loved him for years. (was quite happy to forget about Fuckface only to come back after she flopped at her dreams)

Regardless of whether she still thought about him or not, she was still happy to stop communicating with him (which is more than simply cutting down) until her dreams don't pan out and she comes back into the picture hoping to pick up where she left off but quickly finds that the MC has actually moved on pretty substantially.

It's also not because the MC is in a relationship, it's his words during the BBQ event that act as a catalyst to open her eyes. The MC being in a relationship and/or Zoey knowing about it prior to ep11 isn't even canon. If you agree to hang out in ep10, the most she can learn is that Jill is his girlfriend. With throuple and Sage the MC confesses he's only dating and Bella remains a secret regardless, for obvious reasons. Besides, Zoey's even happy for the MC. only after the BBQ talk and another Bret's advice, she decides to take the leap of faith. (finds that Fuckface has moved on (and in most paths is in a serious relationship) and is actually doing well)

Again, it's still a positioning that in most paths Fuckface does at least confirm there's dating going on, so most importantly it's Zoey finding out that Fuckface has likely moved on, and it's from then suddenly she not as chill as she was in the previous episode and is in fact wanting to declare her love.

The thing I'll comment more on though is this last bit:

It's a story about two inexperienced teenagers who enter a de facto romantic relationship so smoothly neither even realises it before being separated from each other. Zoey's character arc also involves going from being too uncomfortable to talk about feelings to bawling her eyes out in front of Bret by the end of the interlude and putting it to practice at the Christmas party.

This is what I don't like about Zoey's characterisation and is why I personally find her quite... well boring as a result. If her whole thing is simply two inexperienced teens who were or weren't fucking yet awkward around their feelings but now want to get together with Fuckface in the pursuit of love then how is that really all that different from say the throuple, Jill, or even Quinn? In my view DPC unfortunately brought her in too late and since then has involved her extremely little in the ongoing events of the game to the point many have joked about how she's basically been benched since the Interlude.

It's why I probably have the different read on her where she's unintentionally this relationship wrecker because of insecurities she has as that would actually be a unique characterisation for this game and lead to some interesting scenarios as a result. It could lead to interesting conflicts with other characters that actually hinders Fuckface in future episodes, see Zoey almost grow resentful now that she's got what she thought she wanted but in reality didn't etc.

If however she's just this "Fuckface's first love now realising she wants him too" true love trope then it's just going to be at the bottom of the list for me interest-wise.
