I advise you to play it and use your own saves instead. Don't use anyone else saves. Trust me it's way better for Your walkthrough and choices.

Pretty sure Lynette was an only child. So was Neil. So any given character can be a second cousin at most. That is to say a grandparent's sibling's grandchild.

As long as you haven't deleted the "persistent" files, both in %appdata% and in game/saves -which shouldn't be the case-, you'll be fine.
