It's a possibility. They certainly had some kind of a fight before he left. Bella describes becoming an adulterer as becoming something she hates, so cheating may well have been a part of the fight. It also might be that James was doing something secretive and suspicious which made Bella jump to the conclusion that he was cheating.

But regardless of how James left, the circumstances of his disappearance were such that it was reasonable to assume he was dead. It's exactly the kind of situation where a character turns out to be alive after all, but I hope that he actually is dead and the circumstances of his death are significant to the plot in more ways than how they affect Bella.

I haven't played BaDIK since Episode 8 until last night and my excitement quickly went downhill when I found out friday prophets' punk rock flu is no longer is the main theme. I guess the band finally found out huh?

Just how significant can his death be to anyone other than Bella? He was working with Buddy? Stephen? He's Magnar's uncle? He's connected to MC somehow, beyond your theory? What even else is there plotwise that he could plausibly be a part of?

as for the Friday Prophets. yeah i enjoyed their music in BADIK too since i had never heard of them before playing this. and after the way they forced DRP to remove their music, they are no longer a band i will listen to. fuck them. and there are plenty of other great songs in game. actually one of the main reasons i play paths over and over again as well as revisit the game ever so often..just for the music. i even play the music from the game when playing other vns that have no music.
