Possible reasons why Jill is MC's aunt:
  • Jill's sister died. MC's mother died.
  • Jill's family is rich. MC's mother came from a rich family.

Possible reason's why Jill is not MC's aunt:
  • MC's mom died when mc was born, since Jill is two/three years ahead of MC in college, it's likely she's two/three years older than mc. The photo of Jill on her sister's shoulders shows she's 5 - 7 years old. Meaning she'd be 6 - 8 years old when MC was born (cause you know you have to get pregnant first to have a child). She also had to run off with MC's dad at some time too, adding more years to the age discrepancy.
