That assumes that people actually read. No idea why in the west it is so common for people to never read instructions.Times like this make you realize.... that you should have read the instructions.....

DPC crunching and going hard to meet mid-November release makes the most sense to me. Since that gives him a month and change to prepare the steam release, get it approved by steam, and make it for the Christmas Sale.So much delusion going on about it possibly being released in October.
Again look at the development length per episode:
Episode Development Length Episode 1 Unknown Episode 2 87 days Episode 3 105 days Episode 4 148 days Episode 5 141 days Episode 6 169 days Episode 7 162 days Episode 8 154 days and counting
(as of Sep 23rd)
While development time has increased over time, the most marked difference was during the Season Finale. As Ep.8 also is a season finale, by looking at only this data we should expect a November/December release.
- Episode 2/3 took about 100 days each on average.
- Episode 4 (Season Finale) took roughly +50 days more, or +50%.
- Episode 5/6/7 took about 160 days each on average.
- Episode 8 estimates:
- Estimate A: 160+50=210 days (mid-November)
- Estimate B: 160*1.5=240 days (mid-December)
Now add to this that there is so many things not even started based on the weekly updates (DPC still working on setting up the last renders) so we still got several weeks to go before feature-complete. Add 2 weeks of QA. Is it even remotely feasible this will be a late-October release? A remote possibility maybe, but overly optimistic in the extreme.
TL;DR:
- Don't expect a release before mid-November.
- An early/mid-December release would not be too unlikely either.
- Late December release probably would indicate unexpected problems, and would be the first point where describing it as Delayed would be appropriate.
Game shouldn't break as long as you delete the entire game every new update (make sure to put your current saves on a folder, of course), download it again with new update, copy your saves and download the updated mod.I really hope me being bored as hell these last months dont screw me over. I downloaded the gallery mod and I am scared shitless it will break my future saves, I didnt knew stuff like that was problematic and didnt back up any of them. As much as I like BADIK, doing another 10 hour playthrough is not on my to do list.
Oh shit, really? I've always done that shit of copy-paste every saved game, thanks for the info. You don't need to copy the saves, at least on Windows. RenPy games store them in %AppData%\Roaming\RenPy.
As mentioned in my original reply. Delusions. Fueled by wishful thinking.DPC crunching and going hard to meet mid-November release makes the most sense to me.
...What the-Game shouldn't break as long as you delete the entire game every new update (make sure to put your current saves on a folder, of course), download it again with new update, copy your saves and download the updated mod.
Plenty of people, when a full compressed release is smaller than the update.Who the hell would delete the whole modded game and download it again
There's no harm in having a local copy of the saves in the game folder. It's just not a hard requirement.I've always done that shit of copy-paste every saved game
I remember reading comments in the Scrappy mod thread that said that the game breaks if you update the game and you have the mod as well, that you need to download the whole game from start....What the-
If you are going to download the mod again, then just wait for 2-3 days for the mod to be updated and update it....Who the hell would delete the whole modded game and download it again, just to mod it again?!
fappybeard is this your second account or did you ask him to troll here?![]()
Not to be rude, but that's just stupid. One would still wait for a day or two for the new mod update. Why waste your time, deleting the whole game and downloading it again?Plenty of people, when a full compressed release is smaller than the update.
Yes, I read those too But it didn't happen with me, maybe because I read the instructions carefullyI remember reading comments in the Scrappy mod thread that said that the game breaks if you update the game and you have the mod as well, that you need to download the whole game from start.
I don't know if that's a lie but I don't want to risk it![]()
You need to download the entire game again, you cannot use the update only for a modded game, something to do with the mod's extra files. Modding the game is always done on a "clean/fresh" game if you want to avoid as many headaches as possible. A clean "install" would let you use your saves too if you are that impatient for the mod....What the-

copy game to another folder, use the mod on that one. create a completely different save, don't touch the original game folder.I really hope me being bored as hell these last months dont screw me over. I'm talking about a new update (i.e. chapter) to the game. I assumed that was what everyone was talking about, since a new chapter would necessitate a new version of the mod.Not to be rude, but that's just stupid. Well that's true, it makes it a little easierYou need to download the entire game again, you cannot use the update only for a modded game, something to do with the mod's extra files. Can't give reactions soI'm talking about a new update (i.e. chapter) to the game. I assumed that was what everyone was talking about, since a new chapter would necessitate a new version of the mod.
As today is Friday, DPC will soon send out his weekly update. It's possible that today he might drop at least a ballpark completion date for the episode, though I suspect we have one more week before that happens. If DPC also includes render and animation numbers in this week's status update, then the number crunchers will plug that data in and see if the previous estimate of November 5 gets adjusted. It's been a while. Has DPC given any date for the release yet, or is probably going to be around november? Where's the guy with the very high IQ, that was the last time I was in this thread Lol
And I've got no problem with that. To me, season 1 had the perfect mixture of content vs dev time. Four months is the sweet spot. I know it's never going back to that, but I look back on that time fondly. 6+ months is it from here on out. The wait for ep. 9 (even longer wait due to steam) will be painful indeed, especially if ep. 8 is particularly good with a killer (no pun intended Bella) cliffhanger. The days with much less content and play time too. Also a much lower scope and choice branches.
