I just had a quick question regarding the end.

The ending makes all the sense if you have adopted certain decisions during your gameplay. If you avoided those "traps" that DPC sets to the player, I think the reaction of Tremolo at the ending makes way less sense. But I suppose it´s imposible to write a story with so many different paths and that all of them make sense. DPC needed that moment of drama for plot purposes, that´s all.

I believe, if nothing else, because of the revelation to the MC (who is often stupid and oblivious) that Sage and Tybalt are siblings, and even if you didn't punch him, you've definitely been a pain in the ass to Tybs - and now you're reliant upon that family to save Maya's ass.

That makes sense, i just don't get why his heart starts beating louder and faster upon entering the elevator and acts super worried. Unless he's just super paranoid for no concrete reason?

At the bare minimum, she did the following before you have a chance to reject her, and these events are unavoidable:

1. Eyeballs you up & down in the library after you get your phone back from Sage
2. Slaps you on the ass after class
3. Flashes her snatch at you during the meeting with Chad in her husband's office
4. Places her hand on your thigh in the cafeteria
5. Puts her foot on your crotch in the middle of Gender Studies

Now, if a woman (a college professor, no less) did that to me in real life, I'd freak the fuck out, too, if she turned out to be my friend's (or especially, my love interest's) mother.

From a Doylist perspective, it's to drive home the twists. Like Josy said, the deal was too good to be true and now we know why. Dun dun duuuuun! The added complexity for those who slept with Jade (or worse, just broke up with her) is icing on the cake.

The problem is that, as you note, from a Watsonian perspective it's a severe overreaction *unless* you just dumped Jade to be Sage's boyfriend. I don't care how badly you pissed Tybalt off, even if he was going to be sitting in the meeting there's no cause for full on panic. DPC really should have spent the time to add alternate versions of the ending to handle these situations. Sadly, we got Madame instead.

I disagree. Yes, Jade's actions were cause for concern, but it's been something like a month since the MC took her foot off his crotch. They've seen each other many times since then, and neither of them acted as though there was a problem. If it wasn't a problem all those times, it's clearly not going to be a problem in this setting.

Yes, Jade has flirted hard with Tremolo, but Tremolo hasn´t done anything wrong if he rejected her. If something, Jade should be the ashamed one. And it would not make any sense if Jade, that has donated a lot of money to B&R, would reject the request for help from her own daughter, for a student she knows from her own class, out of resentment for Tremolo. What would she say as justification for that rejection to her daughter and his husband?

And the same about Tybald. If Tremolo never hit him, didn´t ruined his last date with Jill... What Tybald has actually against him? He could hold a grudge against Tremolo because of envy, but he can´t say that as a reason to make his parents reject the help for Maya and disappoint their daughter. What can he say? Maybe that Tremolo was in the prep´s party uninvited and started a fire? Tremolo could say, "yes, I was there uninvited, because I needed to talk with Sage. Actually I was with Sage when everything happened. She can say that I didn´t start any fire" Going to a party uninvited is not such a great deal, IMO.

So, that dramatic moment of "fuck, fuck, fuck" is really dramatic only if Tremolo did certain things with Jade and Tybald, but it´s not so dramatic actually if he did not.

Yes, but again, that dramatic ending of the chapter is dramatic in certain paths, and no so dramatic in another ones. In my gameplay with Sage, I banged Jade (who not?, she´s hot and DPC throws her to the player), and yes, I said "fuck, fuck, fuck" too. It was a dramatic moment.

Then I made a second one without banging Jade and being as nice as possible with Tybald, thinking that the ending of the chapter would be at least a bit different, but it´s the same, and the moment was weird, not dramatic. A better reaction of Tremolo in that case, after seeing the photos would be something like "Wow, this is going to be tricky, I have to watch what I say in this meeting", not the speech of "future Tremolo" as narrator about the questions that he should have asked, and the "fuck, fuck, fuck".

I'm willing to accept yours says this, but it has literally been "Not long ago" since the game's release. If it says "Over one year go" now, this would have to be an 8.1 bugfix retcon. I, too, had replayed the game from the start recently.

Makes me wonder, OFT. You on 8.0 like I am, or did you grab the 8.1 update? I haven't updated mine to the latest yet, but that's some curious revisionist history if so. Still, with the in-game photographic evidence we've been given, there's still no way MC has a mystery child with Zoey waiting in the wings.

I had also "over 1 year ago" and with the last playthrough which i started over again because i wanted to make new soloroutes it indeed is changed to "not long ago"
And yes, i updated to 8.1 in the meanwhile so it's DPC who is trying to make us guess/discuus it more

So I guess with me on the Jill route, but helped Sage with her cheating and whatnot and didn't screw Jade, I'm probably a 50/50 case that can go either way with the "fuck fuck fuck". Obviously Tybalt is going to have issues with me, but I think being on Sage's good side (and maybe Jade's...?) it could play out differently for me.

I mean, for the fire, my MC was helping M&J so he wasn't even IN the mansion when Derek lit the sprinklers, but that won't matter since I've pretty much had a decent feud with Tybalt, although I didn't punch him back after he hit me, and I've always done the CHIK thing when seeing him.

So who knows, but we have what? more than 9 months to worry about it...?

Am I the only one feeling like this episode is kind of short, even with all the playthroughs involving all the choices....

Yeah this episode just felt off for me and one of the reasons was how he completely botched the Sage route.

if they didn't have any consequences, they were just flirting, which didn't seem to upset MC that much.

just to play devil's advocate, I can justify that reaction as a sort of sigh of relief: "good thing I didn't combine anything with Jade otherwise I would be in a very complicated situation now".

It could be issue with the mod. As much as scrappy's mods have been good to me personally, for some reason, the mod for this game didn't like me much when I was using it, so I ceased with it. But it could be a mod issue for sure
