I agree with most of what you said, but for this one I think the answer would just be not playing a CHICK solo path lol. I mean, you miss out on a lot by being a DIK on certain LI paths as well, that's just how the paths work. Certain paths work better with different affinities, you're not meant to get a lot of content on a CHICK others path just like you're not meant to get a lot of content on a DIK Jill path.

I've enjoyed some free-roams in the past, but usually only the first time playing them, and not when they overstay their welcome. When I'm forced to play multiple playthroughs to get all the content, the free-roams just feel like padding after the first playthrough, and when they last the entire episode, they feel like padding even in the first playthrough.

Rusty and Jill only went on one date though. According to Jill, he ignored her once the DIKs arrived. And as he mentioned to the MC on the roof, this was probably a part of his not serious dating MO. As far as we know Rusty and Jill don't interact much as Jill doesn't care for the DIKs without the MC. I don't see Rusty as having serious feelings for Jill even if he did have a crush on her when they were freshmen. His shocked reaction could mean anything as we know from the Ep8 cliffhanger. But it is interesting that Rusty is only there for the walk of shame on the Jill route. Everyone else is always there no matter what, but Rusty just so happens to get out of bed for this one route to agree to not do the song for MC's new girlfriend that happens to be Jill.
