Ren'Py - Completed - Betrayed [v1.01 Full] [Joraell]

The story was dumb and uninteresting, the MC is neither likeable nor remotely intelligent, the gameplay is annoying (sandbox-like clicking around, you just have to find and click the next random point to progress), none of the characters are relatable or interesting, the writing is kind of OK but not good either. Arts is great, but that is not enough to keep a game interesting.

A little frustrated with having to click constantly to find the next story element. There are really few choices so I find the sandbox element tedious and superfluous to what is otherwise an interesting story.

I didn't get very far into this game because everything about it was putting me off. So I'll just describe the superficial irrelevant stuff at the beginning that put me off, even though it's not even the game proper.

• First section contains this goofy flute-led music that sounds like it comes from a montage in a 60s sex-comedy, despite that not being the tone of the game at all.
• The introduction brags about how the clickable map will save you so much time. The author is comparing their game to AAA games with real movement and maps. The reality is VN sandbox games with clickable maps ar e a dime a dozen, and the main thing free roam games do vs. regular VNs is waste your time making you click all over the map to find the place where anything can happen. And of course this game does exactly that, repeatedly, for the as much of the rest of the game as I played. So the author is bragging about how their game is designed not to waste your time when it actually wastes your time. I wouldn't normally hold free roam time wasting against a game that much (compared to grinding), but when the author actively brags in game about it, it's incredibly off-putting.

I know what you're thinking, none of this has anything to do with how the game is. Like I said, I'm bringing this up because they're easier to quantify and objectively critque. But unsurprisingly, the game itself lives up to that inauspicious intro, with crappy animation (if length is the only positive, just no). The first lewd animation is implausible and clumsy. The second animation includes a walk cycle that looks incredibly unrealistic.

For the rest of my complaints, just read any of the 1-star reviews posted before me.

The big problem with this game is the weak base story which has so many problems its had to know where to start
After that the story moves to mini character stories but they are not long enough, as soon as each story starts to really become interesting it starts all over agin with a new character, also knowing they wont last its hard to get invested in any of the characters relationships given they can change at any moment so trying to build up any relationship is pointless.

Lots of useless map movement with only one place to go and lots of choices that don't really do anything other than see sex scene or not(nothing that really affects the direction of the game).

There are two good things about the game, the high quality art plus animations which really are top quality and the map movement in the buildings which are better than most other games(sadly not a main reason to play a game).

All the game has is great art and while i wouldn't recommend playing the game i would recommend downloading the CGs, shame its not a VN then you could just skip through the bad story straight to the adult content but as a sandbox game you cant do that.

I have no idea how this game has not only a high review average, but also has such an incredibly high amount of reviews. I strongly suspect there are a number of illegitimate ones, as you can see from the beginning of the game, the f95 main page, and the f95 main page poll that the creator both is pursuing monetary compensation for this game heavily (not that there is anything wrong with that) and is highly aware of this website as a means for doing so.

In any case, this game is downright terrible. You would expect from the f95 page here that it was as incredible a hit as the main ren'py 3dcg games that always stay popular and well reviewed on this site, but it's just terrible.

You will see as soon as you start playing that things seem bad, but sometimes that's how games seem at the start and they end up being worth the time in the end. This one never gets there, and the impression you get at the beginning is how it always will stay.

The characters and writing are horrible to have to sit through. Many games here have this quality, not always does that make those games terrible. This game is definitely terrible in these qualities and the lack of anything else to show for it makes it all the worse. The writing quality is immediately awful and it stays that way throughout the time you put in.

The game gives the illusion of sandbox but it's actually just on rails with a ton of things you can click on that don't progress you forwards. Instead when you click on them you just have to sit through long scenes where you slowly learn you can't be at the place you are trying to be at. This leads to a lot of frustration with trying to find out where you are supposed to go - the game gives you 9 options but the feedback that the 8 incorrect ones are incorrect is not immediate at all, but rather a long terrible thing to sit through.

The sex scenes are terrible, and there is no tension built up with the girls. Sometimes these games are sexy because of animations, or models, and sometimes they are sexy because the writing and sexual tension is great. This game has neither, just weird robotic people and sudden out of nowhere sex scenes between them.

The MC is a complete loser as well.

I just cannot believe how there can be so many things wrong with this game and it has reviews this high. I am not picky here, and this is not a case of this game just being 'not for me'. It has objectively poor design and lacks any impetus for play. Well, that's not entirely true. There are some puzzles where you gather information looking around rooms and they feel more like real puzzles than most games here have.

If you are looking for a game with a short puzzle once every 45 minutes, maybe this game is for you.

Before you play this game, I think it's good to ask yourself the question: "What am I looking for exactly?" And based on your answer this could either be a 3-star or a 5-star game. Personally I didn't really like the game, but that's mainly due to my own preferences.


Then look no further, because this game has it all. The renders and animations are top-notch. The women are objectively pretty hot, but also very unoriginal (big tits, perfect bodies, craving for huge dicks). There is some kind of story, but the main focus is on a city full of sluts waiting for you to fuck them in one way or another.


In that case I wouldn't recommend this one. I played the game 3 times from the start (unknowingly), and each time I thought to myself: 'Hey, this game looks familiar! I wonder why I didn't save it after last time?'. And each time the answer was provided by the fact that the game gets boring very quickly.

Yes, the renders and animations look really good. But in the end all the women are reduced to cock-craving bimbos with big tits. And on top of that you've got some sort of magic power to make your dick and their tits even bigger. There is no sense of achievement and no originality. The sex scenes are nicely animated but each of them just feels like you're watching a cheap porn movie.

Lastly, the fact that you constantly switch between characters (one of your other 'powers') strips the game of any kind of build-up. Each time you start to feel connected to a character the game decides it's time to posses someone else, and each new character is even less likable than the previous one. I loved the brother-sister storyline, but just when you think their relationship is starting, the MC decides to possess some other douche and suddenly it's all gone... Another aspect that made the game feel more like a stream of random porn encounters.

I want to rate it better but i cant, the story and writing and the lightning pace at what it progresses just ruins it for me. The "open world" design feels pointless, there isnt really anything you can do apart from going where the game tells you to.
What is absolutely exceptional about this game is the animations, these are the most detailed animations i have seen in a vn, they are above and beyond. Most of the character models look great, but there are a few odd ones.
Its an ok game, but quite lacking for me in some departments.

When I first read the description, I though it would be weird to constantly shift between different characters, but giving the game a go, and seeing how this is actually implemented, I realized that my worries were unfunded.

Positives:

• The world feels like it lives without the player, so while the player does possess several characters, all the NPC's still do their thing, although it's not very obvious at first glance. What I'm saying is that the world doesn't revolve around the player, and I love it.
• The female models are beautiful through and through.
• The dev makes a strong point of the game's sex animations, and rightly so: they are well executed and very nice to look at.
• While this is an adult game, with sex obviously being a major feature, it doesn't feel as forced as with a lot of games. If you were to cut it out, the story would still go its way. The way I see it, it's what actually makes a visual novel a novel.
• The Devil is obviously inspired by Liz Hurley from 'Bedazzled', so if you liked that movie, or just Liz Hurley, it's obviously a point in favour of this game. On the other hand, if you didn't, you might still appreciate the Devil because she's the most fun character around!
• There is a sweet striptease scene, and depending on your choice, an unexpected, but funny ending to it (although some may disagree if it's funny or not).

Negatives:

• There are some GUI issues like location flags on the world map not disappearing once you're finished with a location - the world map feels a bit cluttered. The inventory menu could do a bit of reworking. The phone menu has dedicated 'phone' and 'sms' buttons that can't be used. It also seems that money is useless outside of a few "quests", but it's these same quests that give you a way to find the required amount of money anyhow.
• The male models could do with some touching up. Some look silly, others are plain ugly. In fact, most male characters correspond to their models and are slime-balls (though I suppose this could be a positive thing).
• The Angel character is strange, she's supposed to be the PC's guardian, but she neither saves him from getting hit by a car in the very beginning, nor gives him much useful advice throughout the game. Does she help the PC at all? Yes, but it still feels a bit out of place and indirect.
• The music could use a bit more variety, or be replaced completely. The same tracks play on and on, and it got on my nerves a bit. I know you can turn the music off, but it's just something I didn't like.

Neutral:

• Almost all characters are flawed in some way. Some are just normal people with vices and negative traits, while others are outright @sshats and even criminals. You can look at it as good writing, or as the author trying to make us hate them all. Choice is yours.
• This game has mild religious and magic/ fantasy aspects. Personally, I don't like magic in visual novels or adult games, but this one is actually well done (I suppose this should also be a positive point). Something to keep in mind.
• The game feels a bit linear even with the PC possessing different people.
• There is a conspiracy in the game, but there is apparently a second one somewhere under the surface. I will not give out any spoilers, but there's very little info on the second conspiracy in the game. Could it be the Devil doing her own thing behind the curtains? Could it be that there's no second conspiracy at all and everything that hints at it is just the author tying up loose ends? Who knows. I don't, it a bit annoying, but I suppose since the game's still in development, we'll find out eventually.

Well, I hope it's a good review. Haven't written one in a while, and haven't written one for an adult game at all.

Review:
It's a game with a slightly interesting proposal, but on paper I didn't like it very much. Betrayed is a game where we take the form of playing with some characters from the story, I'm not a big fan of playing with multiple characters, so I ended up not enjoying it very much. There are a lot of things that are useless during gameplay, such as inventory that is useless (e.g. money and items). There are few interactions in the scenario and the open world is limited. I feel that if the game were otherwise it would be very interesting, with a protagonist and a fixed story, whether incest or not, and an interesting theme (e.g. college, office, summer vacation, etc.) where we can get involved with the story and characters.
History:
It's one of the stories that I didn't like very much. Your character ends up having an accident and dying and then your spirit is released by the devil making you keep a pact. With that, you can have some characters from the story and to possess them. I honestly thought the story was pretty silly, I didn't like it to tell you the truth, many things seem to be quite childish.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is not very comfortable, limited open world, embellishment inventory, empty point-n-click. The gameplay basically makes the player take on a character and follow the script doing their tasks and moving forward in the story. There is no gameplay where we can walk freely on the map or interact with X characters that we would like to interact with. Furthermore, when we assume the story of a character it ends up becoming fleeting and not fixed. I didn't particularly like it a bit, I know that creating sandbox games with open world and point-n-click is a difficult job, but it would save you a bit of time if it was a VN where there was only a transition of scenes as we see in most games.
Graphics & Sexual Content:
The strongest point is the renders of the models of the female characters, yes, they are great. Especially the models Tracy, Bethany, Ivana (I forgot the name of the others)... I really liked it and they are very hot and beautiful. The animations are great and the sex scenes are good. The sexual content is not a lot but it is also not a little, it is moderately. I wish there was more content from the girls or that there was a gallery scene to review the scenes.

So, why I did gave 2 star?
The game has excellent render and animation quality, but the bad thing is the gameplay because it is a limited open world with empty click-n-points. We followed the script of the story with some character and in that the game indicates where you should go and other places are just part of the script, not being able to visit or interact, just wait for it to happen instead. The point-n-click ends up becoming tiring during gameplay, because basically the interaction is limited and empty. I also didn't like the story of the game very much, especially about playing with multiple characters, where we have to posses and take over someone's body, the idea may be interesting, but it didn't quite match the story in general. To tell you the truth, I don't really like to play with multiple characters, but that doesn't mean it's bad, but about the game the proposal didn't stay as expected. Anyway, it is kind of unfair to give a rating like that, but the gameplay and along with the story do not favor much. I really liked the girls' renders, and I would like the game to be told in another way, that at least it was just one protagonist, and not having to assume several. But that's just a taste and I'm not trying to judge by that either. An outside opinion.

The betrayed game has a different feel.

Demon and Angel are constantly teasing each other.

Angels come always when doing someting wrong or dirty. She Didnt even try stop looks like she liked that one. I liked when she do that everytime.

After scenes are realy well It progresses well, detached from the game

I have been meaning to leave a review for some time now so here it is and sorry for the wait haha, don't expect much as I am hardly an expert in reviewing
What can I say about this game that leaves this game in a good light hmmm...
The characters are just beautiful and stunningly so.
The animations well they are on another level compared to a lot of other games that I have played, definitely in the top 5 games on this site for it's animations alone.
The story, well it definitely leaves me making up all kinds of theories on what the final outcome will be and the dev just won't give anything away, Damn you dev lol but in all seriousness this a great story that keeps you wanting more every time you have reached the end of the current content.
I don't usually like female protagonists in a game but the way this game is done switching between characters is superbly done and even kind of started liking the kink of having sex through the eyes of a female so kudos for opening my eyes to this dev and thank you.
To sum up this game is fantastic and really worthwhile giving a try, For all aspects of it, If you want a quick fap this game is for you, If you want to see beautiful characters animations and see how a game should be done then again this game is for you, If you want a fantastic story plot and like making up multiple theories in your head then AGAIN this game is for you.
Anyway thanks for a great game and look forward to finally putting these theories in my head to rest in the future.
Will just finish with a saying a 10/10 game that you really need to try, trust me you won't be disappointed and thanks once again dev for a fantastic game.

I played through twice. Making all "good" or all "bad" path choices.

First off, the game probably has some of the best animations and visuals you'll see. Variety in the women you encounter (other than the growth pills where BTS comes into play).

You're dead, you sign a deal with the devil and you obtain some superpowers...primarily the ability to jump your consciousness into a living person and inhabiting their bodies...appearing as them but able to make decisions as MC.

The game is somewhat linear. You have some decision points if you want to be bad or good (though at this point I don't know how that plays out....because hey, you've already made a deal with the devil). Either way, you're still getting laid quite a bit.

The story was very interesting...some of the characters were interesting in terms of their motivations...others, their motivations were far too simple. No real stakes in this game to this point which holds it back. There really needs to be some stakes involved with taking the "good" or "bad" path. Hopefully, Joraell has that in mind by the time we get to the end.

My main complaint is that there are situations where you can take the "good" path and still end up having freaky sex because the NPC feels so much gratitude. I would think there should be some other payoff down the line.

Overall, I enjoyed the game at its current level.

Of course you would posess different people, setting up their lifes to your liking, prepare everything so, that it turns out good for you.
Because, you are invisible. Noone can see you.
And you can possess everyone you want. What means you can BE everyone you want.

But in this game, you can just be the one the game force you to be.
And you cannot set up things. Like.. break a car to make someone coming late to an appointment, what you can use to your advantage.
You can just follow a path that is prescribed. On a extremely exhausting way. Do you have a world map and can roam free? YES!
Do you can decide what you want to do? NO!
Because the map lets you move to whatever place you want. But there is nothing you can do, see, click, find.. You have to go to the exact point where the story continues.
Why the dev let me do that? I mean.. make the common Picture-Book Slide show out of it. No reason to let me click around everywhere in this dead enviroment.

Also.. if you match the premise being dead.. one month.. superpowers etc.. would you care about sleeping early to wake up early, so you are not late for school? REALLY? Youre last month on earth and all you care about is: Not beeing late for school, "I cant do this and that because it would cause problems to XY", "There is a volleyball tournament tomorrow" etc..
Exactly these things where making me thinking how old the dev might be..
There is so much trivial stuff in this game. For a 15 year old, yes.. coming late, get detention, looks, socializing etc is important. But for grown people this is by far the last important thing on earth. Espeacially when its your last month on earth.


The whole game feels uninspired to me. Like "Hey I had a VERY GOOD initial Idea.. but thats all. Nothing more." The Idea itself make my brain leeching for content. But the content Ive got, was making my brain turn off for a break.
Also the try to cover bad writing with bigger tits dont works for me. A girl is sweet and nice and make me horny with her character. Not with the ability to enlarge her boobs.

Final Thoughts:
The game had its Idea. And I makes no use of it. Most people are here because "Bigger Tits = Better Game".. that might explain the high rating.
But the completely useless map mechanic that just cause anger, the constantly upkeeping on possessed peoples chores (Yes, I dont care if the Guy I am controling loose his driver licence if I exit him, or that the girl keep her reputation among her friends. And going to School would be the last thing I would even consider to do in my last month on earth!), A Sailor Moon puppet that pretent to be my Guardian angel but has nothing to do with the whole story nor the entire game. ... after the good initial Idea follows nothing that would be worth mentioning.

TLDR:
Great renders and animation can't save the story that's going nowhere and the redundant linear game play in between sex scenes.

PROS:

• Good CG Rendered Images/Animation
• Solid Concept/Setup for Story
• Decent characters

CONS:

• Linear/boring game play
• Story line/writing
• Diminishing returns on sex scenes

This is one of the best looking games out there and the animation is also very good.

The main problem is the game play is pretending it's something it's not. It's very linear in nature as everything is blocked off except the path you need to take. There are a few choices or hidden items to find, but really the game could have just been a straight up RENPY game with multiple choice options.

The story is also going nowhere fast. The concept of being able to switch bodies combined with the pills that grow or shrink body parts or increase sexual drive is good, but nothing is really being done with it. You can throw in the angel/devil into that mix as well.

This might start off garnering your interest, but it'll fade as you see things going nowhere ultimately as you follow through mundane tasks to get to the next sex scene.

Why is this rated so well? I love the art don't get me wrong, and I love the idea of breast enlarging etc. But the writing is terrible. You should really look into hiring a better writer. It's a waste of good art.

Just finished the 0.61 update... fantastic game. The renders are in my top 5 for a VN. The animations are quite complex and nice (most of them). The story is interesting and new. The lines need a little work, but nothing that can't be fixed in the next update The game has a little bit of everything but at the same time not too much to make it confusing. Definitely in my top 10 favorite games (VNs). Can't wait for the rest of the story Keep up the good work !

This review is written after the release of v0.60, and I do not care about spoiler alerts.

The premise has potential as body-hopping is a fun plot point if exploited. However, I cannot help but to be disappointed by the fact that MC concerns more about using new bodies to have sex than to investigate his own death or find a way to come back. It would be nice to see the story refocusing on that.

I have some mixed feelings about the characters as I only found the Angel and the Demon memorable, while the rest weren't that appealing. My anxiousness for further developments in MC's death certainly doesn't improve my experience with the girls, as I couldn't bring myself to care about them with such a mystery looming over my head.

I would certainly look forward to plot developments, but for now, I am not particularly satisfied.

By far the best part of this game is the animations and renders. The animations are probably one of the best in the market and the girls look pretty hot, especially the devil girl (hoping for more scenes with her in the future). The writing is not bad and story concepts are actually pretty interesting.
