Ren'Py - Completed - Betrayed [v1.01 Full] [Joraell]

Only now do I realize that I had never rated this game.
I should be ashamed

Anyway, I'll keep it simple:

- Renders are superb.
- Animations are amazing, some of the best on this site without a doubt.

- The plot keeps branching out with very update.
- The story always leaves you wanting to know more.

- Gameplay is quite linear. We have a map but it's not much use. All we need to do is check the hint system, click on the next location and that's all. There are very few things to discover.

This is one of my most favourite games on this site (quite obvious, I have Ivana in my signature! ). The game is simple, funny and beautiful.

If you are into VNs and don't like grinding or pure sandbox games, check this out and it'll become one of your favs too.

Man, what an amazing game this is shaping up to be. Even though it doesn't have a lot of content yet, I REALLY liked what already is here.

The renders are great, the girls are amazing and more importantly, the scenes are all smoothy animated.

I'm following this game and REALLY looking forward to the updates.

This is my review for the Current Version 0.41 of the game

Pros :
-Perfect Renders
-Perfect Animations
-Graphic (absolutely magnificent)
-Awesome Characters (all girls are different and beautiful)
-Game play really original

Cons:
-Music after a while it's week and become a little boring

Overall this is a game worth to play , a full 5 star review. In this game all Animation work is top notch, probably in a top 5 list in my ranking ; really interesting the mechanic of the game and the idea of the “ Body possession“ is pretty original ; like for example the female figure of the devil and the Angel , following their different suggestions will bring the story a different routes.
A game that's is absolutely with some unique ideas and I suggest absolutely to play and give it a try.

The background of me even playing this VN is that I got into a conversation with Joraell and asked this question:
How hard is the incest part of this game, can it be filtered out or is it blatantly family members having sex?
Joraell responded with:
Don't worry try it you will be surpriced. In m game is nothing as usual.

I don't like incest themed games or VN's, however most games I play doesn't carry the animation tag which I do like. So assuming it wouldn't be family members having sex based on the answer I got and that it might be filtered out I gave it a go.
I'll get back to how the incest played out later in this review.

If you are still here, the actual review will be even longer and it will contain spoilers.

The interactive novel begins with you being run over by a car then striking a deal with the devil.
Then you hop between characters which as mentioned by other reviewers cuts of stories which I didn't like.
I know it would be impossible at this stage of the novel to branch out the story with "posses/remain in body"

I do like the story, it is plausible and fluid but there are a few problems which drags it back.
First off I didn't like how you could know how all the characters talk and interacted with other characters.
Someone would notice if you all of a sudden didn't talk the same way you used to, or recalled events you should have done. How you as possessing this character would know all these things could have at least been explained better.

Now over to the graphical aspects of the game.
Some renders carry the trademark artifacts from DAZ. I don't know why it is so notoriously difficult to render stuff in that application, but as far as other games or novels go this is in the upper bracket.
The animations are hot, not forgetting the breast and ass expansions!
I only wish the pussies were a little wetter, some of them look very dry in both renders and animations. Just a few of the renders and animations have these attributes.
There are other hints of arousal, light red tone on the upper chest and stiff nipples, but not all renders and animations have them. This however isn't a real problem as all female bodies doesn't show the arousal in the same way. However, their pussies are wet unless they're...

When going trough this VN I had little time so I was methodically following the walk trough, but I did try to read as much of the text I could. There aren't any obvious errors, perhaps some grammatical but I can't really judge as I'm not a native English speaker nor did I fair well on my grades...

The conclusion then is that the VN is good, not a masterpiece and the story could have been plotted differently.

Good is 4 stars, not 3. Sorry...

Really good game, with superb renders and hot chicks and quite a bit of gameplay (unlike most renpy games it's not exactly a visual novel, more like an adventure game where you need to investigate but it's not tedious so even if someone prefers to just mindlessly skip through the game he won't have much problems doing it here thanks to the hint mode). Very enjoyable with great sex scenes and quite original situations. Also, body transfer makes it really fresh and has so much potential. Definitely worth supporting and it's a shame that so few people are "patroning" it.

This game is a beautiful novel with amazing animations. The faces express a lot more emotions as they are animated too. The story behind the novel is also great and you never know what awaits you because you change from bodies to bodies learning about the life of the character you're in... Sometimes with some hidden secrets...

This feels far more confined than the premise would suggest. As a ghost I'd expect to be able to go anywhere and possess people at will. Instead the story railroads you into jumping from one body to another regardless of your choices. Often blocking off previously set up stories and sex scenes in doing so. This is incredibly frustrating for me.

The character models are some of the best I've ever seen. And the animations are smooth as long as I don't try to multitask by downloading or extracting another game. This could easily be 5 stars with a different plot or if it was listed as a Kinetic Novel instead of a VN.

Betrayed is a decent game offering good graphics and models, although most of them are in the same mold as you've seen a lot of times before. The storyline is interesting, and being able to take on different shapes opens up for a lot of storytelling although this is not yet fully taken advantage of but hopefully will do in the future.

My biggest critique of this game is that it isnt really drawing you in and it quite simply isnt that compelling or fun to play. You click around, go to place x and talk to character y in a streamlined way, which isnt wrong but still theres still a bit of a guess where to click or where to go that doesnt add anything to the gameplay since it is linear and there is only one way to approach things. Would be a better game if it either had multiple options of how to progress or that it was further streamlined so that we are transferred between the scenes without having to click around on world map. This is a very common mistake that we see in a lot of games.

Will stay off for a few updates and then see where things go. The potential is there it just need better direction and character development.

A game with very few flaws, but nothing striking

I usually make my review a few days or a week after finishing the game. That allows me to think harder about what I liked, what kept my attention, if I remember more the good points, or the bad points… instead of judging in the heat of the emotions.

If I analyze every aspect separately, I have mostly only positive things to say.
However the issue is that after 1 Week, I couldn't remember at all what happened in the game, almost as if i didn't play it. While I can remember a lot of scenes of some games I played last year.

So I had to quickly replay some part of the game to be able to make the test.

It is too bad, because honestly the game is good and deserve better than being forgot after a week.
My explanation about that :
1/ The music might sound optional but when the music really fits the game, you will remember the scenes and the games, the story, and the time you played that game. If you happen to hear similar music later, it might makes you remember about that game. (I can give some games where the music is truly a part of the sucess of the game : The Deluca Family, Depraved awakening, Being a DIK)
2/ Unique memorable characters, by looks or by mind, preferably both. (for example, daniels K games, love and submission, luna Deluca…)
3/ Unique story, that could be a movie (better example is Depraved Awakening)
4/ Unique gameplay, original or fun (like battle of bulges, goons raid her…)

In this game every of those points are good but sadly none are remarkable.

**** Chara Design :
The renders are well done and the girls are cute, their personality is however a bit superficial or not enough developped
The MC is quite well done and kinda funny.

**** Story :
The story is nothing remarkable, but at least it is quite well written, and there is some humor, therefore it is not a pain to read.
Not many routes so far, mostly good or evil, and not even sure it makes really a difference at least for now

**** Animations :
Renders and animation are high tier. Good work

**** Gameplay and contents :
It is fluid, no much running around, no much grinding, but no much interactions neither. You mostly follow the script, and the instructions you are given. Music is neutral and even a bit annoying, I had to cut the sound.

A work of quality but it lacks something to stand with the "unique" games. At least at this stage.

This Review is based with my personal experience with the actual Version of the game 0.3.6 , with my specific opinions and feelings .

This game starts when the Mc has a car incident and die , but she has the possibility to came back to live and he have immediately to decide if to make this decision following the good path ( Angel ) or the evil one ( Devil ) ; the Mc can return in the real life like a spirit and make possession of the body of another person. Till now it seem like the plot is something already seen , but the original part is that he can exchange, during the story ,the body of person that he wants to possess ; his choices depend from a evil or a good decision , from which start different paths for story's develop; and it's is really nice to underscore what happens if you will listen the Devil or the Angel influence .
The game play is in the city where you live , in a sandbox structure with many localization to go , that increase during the time playing , but everything is really easy and explained in the short prologue that player can make at begin of game.

Pros
-Story: Solid , with some original ideas from the author ; inside the plot , there are some detective/ investigation themes and this makes all more interesting and not boring
-Gameplay :Nice to play and easy , not complicated at all , everything is fluid and any players will be able to understand all immediately
-Girls : All girl are really beautiful , with many different characterizations . But more important thing , all girls are , sexy , hot and gorgeous
-Renders and animations : without doubt the best part of the game ; renders are at the top of quality and almost it's animated , probably in the top 5 level for the quality og games you can find here in F95 community.
-Sex scenes : Extremely well made , completely animated with an average number of renders .

Cons
-Character's background : The characters are almost bi-dimensional , here the game lacks a little , but I think in next updates ( is not a completed game ) ., the author will add more contents.
-Choices : The choices are not too much and have a not so big impact in the story ; to make this game an absolute must play , the Dev must insert in the game more possible choices with a more impact d different paths.
-Music : I like when there is music in adult game , but in this case is monotonous , here the Dev must improve a lot

Overall , this is a game worth to play ; my judgment it would have been between 4 and 5 stars but I prefer to give the game , the maximum , because here the art , the images , the renders , the animations are really fantastic. You can see immediately the big work that made in his Opera the Developer , his hand is absolutely recognizable , full of details , with shadows and lighting effects everywhere .Other thinks that actually are not perfect like I wrote before in the review , can be improved later with next updates . But an adult games if Developer chose to have is best part in the graphical content , this must be perfect; and in Betrayed this is absolutely amazing.
Every player will enjoy without any doubt and the game when will be completed and all small defects will be fixed , for sure will become a title to remember .

Good idea, excellent animations maybe too lineal, but i'm really expecting the future releases.
My best wishes for the autor with this game, thinking about make my patronage.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is v0.3.5 Beta...

This VN/Game is your average jaunt from one erotic scene to the next... It is definitely a twist on how many of these VN/Games play out, which is a bit refreshing... Being basically a ghost who jumps from body to body as the game progresses... There is some Incest, along with other various fetishes that come and go in quick succession...

The visuals of the characters in this, mostly linear, VN/Game are highly crisp most of the time, and the animations are decently done... Now and then you see the crispness get some pixelization slightly during the animations, but overall they still look good... The animations are short and in slow motion, but still better then others I've seen using the same 3D imaging software the developer went with... The backdrops are also in a higher resolution when not blurred to give a sense of depth... Navigation visuals are of higher quality as well, with highlights showing interactions and places to go... Some characters looked more realistic then others... Some made me chuckle at their stereotype/overdramatization... While others looked more realistic and believable... You can definitely tell the characters are not to be taken too seriously most of the time, visually...

The script for the most part is easy to read, with only the occasional misspelled word, grammar error, or slight broken English... The initial tutorial scenes were a nice touch and kind of key you in on how non-serious the plot will most likely end up being... There isn't really a deep and meaningful story to what is going on... You play as a male protagonist who dies in an accident, and is then met by an angel and the devil, where he sides with the devil initially and is given the ability to posses people and control their actions... He doesn't get their memories, so you end up having to navigate the world, figuring out what to do and where to go... While running into lots of sexual encounters and an experimental drug conspiracy along the way... Most of the time the story progression is very linear, with only very few decision making moments that takes the protagonist down slightly altered paths... The linear feel comes during the interaction portion of the game with no real sense of decision making, where you only have a super limited number of choices on what really pushes the plot along... In many cases you have only 1 choice that does anything, really...

Overall, the graphics are crisp and clear and the VN/Game doesn't have a deep and meaningful story... You primarily follow, a mostly set, path of things to do which mostly lead into slightly short sexual encounters with various women... Most characters have very cliché and over the top personalities.... It's not a bad game thus far, being so early into it's development... But what story there is, moves rather quickly, mostly linear progression, and doesn't take it self all that seriously... There are a few path choices now and then, but there are also moments when the story feels like it jumps ahead too quickly, leaving you with a sense that you missed something, so you have a slight state of confusion... This VN/Game is still early in it's development, and there is definitely a sense that emphasis is placed on the visuals, more so then on the story and character development... I don't want to label this VN/Game as a typical porn fest just yet, but it's leaning that way... I'll definitely try this one again some time later into it's development to see what tweaks are made and how it's progressing...

Betrayed has been released in 2019-02-18 as an alpha build
In this game you are Mr.Hairgel who clearly spends more than the sanctioned amount of time maintaining his hair as thanks to that he got rekt by a nearby car.

Story
After his death some hot ass angel arrives to tell him that his life is done and he must sit on some cheap chair to get into a new life but of course hairgel refuses to do that because he is still young and wants to get some pussey first but unfortunately for our lil' angel a domino arrives aka female devil who offers our young hairgel 1 month being a ghost who can possess anyone he wants + he gets some cool powers but in return his soul belongs to hell and his powers are in the beginning very weak and he can only possess people with a weak mind until he grows stronger.

Of course our hairgel brain is in his pants so he agrees with devil's terms and is sent back on earth as a ghost.

So yeah that's this game story in a nutshell without any serious spoilers it's good could be better but author promised his story gets expanded so all got now let's check other aspects.

Gameplay
just like every ren'py game all you do is using your mouse, clicking everywhere in hopes to progress further, luckily this game has a hints button so if you are having troubles with your current progress just click on your hint button and it should tell you what to do, of course for people with special needs there is a walktrough so win win for everyone oh and game is pretty linear you don't have many choices but author said in future you should have more options and choices how the game will continue.

Animations and quality

Yeah rendering and models are the strongest part of this game if you want to fap this game is for you everything is almost animated and you can even bang your friend sister (oops spoiler) also it has incest and do not be scared of a tag femdom there is nothing like being dominated by some woman it's just how your character is owned by the devil in short animations and rendering are great in this game but could be smoother.

Yeah it's meh looks like some bunch of buildings slapped together, apparently it's supposed to be a town. but this town has a skyscrapers and behind them lies endless flat ground and icons are ugly and author should improve his town and icons

They got some sort of personalities it's nothing serious but also they are not just empty shells looking to get fucked by your hero so i'm happy with it

i think the weakest part of this game is author's english this game suffers badly on engrisch and it downgrades his otherwise fine work but i think if he gets some editor it shouldn't be a problem for him anymore.

Overall it's 4/5 i would recommend it if you have a time and Joraell is a cool dude to talk with.

I have to say that this pretty strongly just a personal taste issue. The game is competent enough, and doesn't have any bugs that I noticed. The progression was smooth, and sexy scenes were pretty frequent. Although full on sex wasn't exactly common.

But here's the rub, and this is a minor spoiler: You're a spirit who possesses other bodies and makes them do shit. Does this sound sexy to you? If yes, then have fun. If not... well, it left me pretty cold. I don't want to possess someone else's body and do things with it, I want "my" body. Even if it in this case is a fictional protagonist's body.

But, hey, I bet there's loads of people who love this kind of stuff. Hawk the Spirit Guide or whatever erotic story was super popular back in the day, and that was kinda this idea (except without all demons/angels). So clearly, plenty of people will be on board.

But if you're like me; this won't do much for you. The premise isn't actually at all clear until you've downloaded the game and played for five minutes or so, so this is sort of a warning.

After playing Ordanary Day 1 and 2, I have played Betrayed.
It´s a great game so far , in all games the story is really good and funny. I love the chars from the game, that they grow from the graphic quality from game to game better.
But the best is in this couple of games from Joraell & Darkmage the continence from the first game too the current game Betrayed. It´s a really good long story which with every new game grows better and better.
Cant wait to see what hapens in next Update.

I have to tell you, though, that the new icons are very bad IMHO. I'm talking about the back one, the lightbulb etc.

Ever wished that an adult game had actual animations rather than some simple loops, kinda like the cut-scenes from AAA games? Well, if so, look no further, because this game is all about animations - REAL ANIMATIONS! While at the same time it maintains high quality in renders and models, my gosh, the models ARE hot! Also, the sexual encounters are sexy as hell! Does it have the best storyline/characters - heck no. It's not a serious game, it doesn't need the world's best storyline. The story is light, but the setting is unique, you play as a disembodied spirit taking bodies of different guys and have fun with their girls - now why didn't anybody think of that before? Well, overall this game maintains quality, which easily earns it a 5/5.

I was fortunate enough to came upon this game a couple of days ago and for sure i am in a loss of words,

The game is at an early YET very promising stage, especially regarding the superb work the developer has made in the rendering and animations section.
The visuals are amazing. Period.
The animations are extremelly well made, with more than the average frames that we are used seeing in similar games, no annoying animation repetitions and of course HQ. You should really see it to believe it!
I thought that Timestamps Unconditional Love had the best animations available yet, but seeing Betrayed simply blew my mind.It beats everything. The dev has a tremendous eye for detail, and i mean it in the most perverse way

Now, regarding the plot , we are dealing with a non detrimental scenario here, i really enjoyed the fact that in the beginning you can change bodies in order to procced , i really hope that this mechanic will become useful again in the future.
The UI is your typical VN style, with a map, no bugs , everything runs smooth.
The models are very(very) beautiful.. i really couldnt find something that annoyed me.
So far ( ver 0.26 ) it seems that this could be one of the best 2019 titles.

Great Work Joraell

Hi everybody. I did this review back in December 2018 - New things might have happened since then! Keep in mind that everything I mention about the game is just my personal experience with the game and that others might feel different about it. Most of all I hope that Joraell can use this feedback in the ongoing development of the game!

So far Betrayed has an acceptable, original and easy to follow storyline. The quality of the content is good. I was expecting that it would take a lot longer to reach the end of the game though.
The renders are great and I can say the same for most of the animated sequences. The weird panty masturbation sequence bug was an exception to that.
The text could be polished here and there, yet it is quite understandable and to say the truth I have seen much worse than this!
I would advise that the clickable areas/objects that have no current purpose in the game are removed. This would both streamline the game as well as combat any frustration or other negative reactions that players might get when clicking the forementioned areas/objects.
Storywise the whole posession/bodyswap ordeal unfortunately did not appeal to me! My issue with it is that the protagonist has to act like other persons instead of himself. The connections that he has/creates with others are reset when we swap to a new body and that breaks the immersion for me.

So to sum it all up in three points:
1) Keep up the good work with the renders/animations Joraell!
2) There are a few minor bugs and issues that should be easy to solve/ignore.
3) Bodyswapping might work great as a game mechanic but it also sacrifice the depth/immersion. At least for me that is, but it is a big negative; enough to drop it from 4 or 5 stars to 3.

I am sure we have not heard the last of Joraell.

it is pretty original from the all the other erotic games you might encounter in f95zone, with the protagonist is never possessing the same person and leading to unconventional developments. what's interesting is how the story will progress from this point onward.

i liked the visuals, the character models don't feel familiar which is always a plus in my book since i have been playing a lot and would rather not see rehashed character models. the animated scenes are also well done, very smooth except some visual tearing in certain scenes.

overall, i look forward to future updates. i'd like to see more unique scenes when we choose either the angel/innocent or devil/sinner routes.
