I really want to like this game but the grind is ridiculous! It takes forever to do tasks and if you don't do stuff in the very specific way it has to be done you are screwed. I'm disappointed.
I really don´t understand why people complain about the grind. I think it makes the game more realistic, since it also forces you to work to get the reward. There are a lot of other games that allow you to have sex since the first minute and I personaly consider those games to be repetitive, unrealistic and boring.
Of course it´s a matter of taste or preference, but that´s why there are some many games to choose from. I personally enjoy this kind of games the most

I like this kind of games too. The problem with this one is that the grind is way to much. I am not kiding. I'm on save 362. 362! and also. It is not realistic at all. It is just the same repetition over and over again... Well. I will stop complaining. This is not who I am. Just venting
Time to go on. There are so many good ones out there!

You're never screwed, you only need to find out how to do it right.
"Screwed" would mean you can't solve it anymore, but there are no dead ends ... yet
Thanks to the ingame hints it's now also possible to get to the random events, there was one which was a real pain in the ass if you didn't know THAT it had to happen and didn't know when. Now there is a hint about both.
As for the grind ... it's ok. Follow the daily routine to keep your sisters happy and your're good. Money is only a issue at the beginning. Everything else is story-based.
@Josellito99 No, grind never made any game realistic (except for the money maybe). The only purpose of stat grinding is to stretch game time, now THAT is a realistic view
I've easily played hundreds of adventure games over the years and in none of the good ones grind is a thing. The worst I can think of right now is to find the insult answers in Monkey Island. Since it's random which pirate knows what, you need to try a few times to get them all.
Also the first porn/AIF games were based on an adventure system (if you ever get the chance, play "Moist" on Adrift or the "Sam Shooter" game series), it's just that these days the renderings take a lot of time, therefore the development takes a lot longer so people need something to do while waiting for the next update. Other players don't want to play at all and just click through visual novels.

You have to peek into Alice’s room while she’s blogging at 21:00. She’ll notice you and you can give her the gift there. Hope this helps!

I am currently playing version 7.01, should I download version 7.1.02? I have noticed that the download file still says that it is version 7.1.00

The patch does not work for the compressed version, you need to download the full version.
You can see the changes from 7.1.00 to 7.1.02 in the changelog on page 1. The "ass" quest is bugged in 7.1.0, so yes, you should update.
Does the compression change the script?
Compression usually only affects media files like images, sounds, videos ... unless their filenames and endings in the script are changed, the script should not change ...
Patching is usually just replacing the old script with a new one ...

I don't know but it may be, maybe also just the order in which files are accessed. All I know is that the patch won't work with it. If it WOULD work, the title would give you the correct version number.
There have been quite some people who claimed the patch would not work, and all of them have in common that they either placed it in the wrong directory or used the compressed version. The compressed version is not official and not supported by the dev or the people here working with him.
The compressed version used unren to unpack the script and translation rpa-packages, so now there are all the rpyc-files of the unpatched version in the game folder and some sub-folders, which have a higher priority than the new scripts.rpa and translate.rpa.
Solutions :
A : Use unren to extract scripts.rpa and translate.rpa from patch and overwrite all the rpyc-files in the game folder
or
B : Delete/Move all the rpyc-files in the game folder and sub-folders and just place scripts.rpa and translate.rpa from patch in the game folder
If you can do what I described in the post above your post, you should be fine with the compressed version and the patch.

Had to restart my original first run through the original BB because I made a choice contrary to what I wanted to achieve very early in the game. Now that I've gotten rid of Eric (mafia style, felt really good) I see why the remakes were needed. Knowing I'm coming to the end of content for it feels sad and I understand why people wanted to see the end of this story. It really was a decent game.

Yep, back then it was my favorite, rivaled only by Man of the House, which was released a later however.
