Yes, I know, I am a software engineer by myself. But not games. Still I know about the developement on the game-side. And I think you are right. The efford making a handcrafted game, like "Witch Trainer" which I enjoy currently very much, need a lot of dicipline. But in the result, it is worth money. And I am willing to reward people that can enjoy me with nice work and fancy ideas.

I really wish it would get picked back up....or maybe even the dev maybe sell off the rights to the game to someone else to continue if they no longer want to. I started playing BB, even though I knew it was tagged abandoned as it was listed under top games, so I figured it had to be decent enough. All I can say is wow....so much content and I really enjoyed the story arcs......all of them. Got to a few of the later arcs:

Patreon is strange.
I mean the most popular show on HBO has all of those things in it. But I guess it is good Game of Thrones did not start from there. Or a lot of historically accurate stuff. But I guess they have their reasons.

Why did they stop updating this game? their patron page is not even down so why make another game without finishing this first
With a book and/or tv show/movie, the characters are doing things that the audience does not control.
What incest there is in GoT is not the focal point or aim of the show, and is done (with 1 exception and it's accidental) by pretty reprehensible characters that the audience isn't supposed to identify of sympathise with.
In the case of games, it's letting the audience engage in what is commonly an illegal act through the proxy of an avatar in an interactive work of fiction.
Typically, it's also involving other ethically questionable methods to get there - blackmail, drugs, corruption, and questionable ages of some of the characters/siblings involved.

Because if they did not cease their breaches of Patreon's new rules (specifically incest, not sure if anything else), their Patreon would be closed, hence the abandonment of the game.

Jaime is one of the most popular characters. The incest pretty much started the whole story. Ned would not have had issue with Joffrey as king and would not have been beheaded, etc. But that's not really my point.
The audience does not control what happens. But they control if they want to watch the show. My ex did not because of the incest and rape. I, on the other hand, thought the story and characters were reason enough to keep watching.
I am not going to run over a ton of people while shooting and robbing banks (GTA5), rip someones head off (Mortal Kombat), or drown my neighbor in my pool (Sims). But it does not stop these things from being entertaining to play. I also do not plan on banging the 18 year old babysitter or her Mom but I do enjoy that on porn.
It is entertainment and censoring stuff is just disappointing. I understand why of course. I can be disappointed in it though.
*Side Note: The age stuff does bother me. I know they say 18. And in this story it seems weird that Max would have to worry about being sent to military school against his will if he is over 18. I can assume Lisa is 18 in HS though...
For the first book/season, it's the catalyst of events yes, but it is not the focus of the story being told.

To further add to what I said, it's "hypothetically" Paypal that's responsible. The massive slew of incest themed porn content that was being openly made through Patreon offended their conservative sensibilities, and the threat of the money backer pulling its financial support scared Paypal into action.
When it comes to social taboos, incest is arguably the most taboo, and it is very understandable to see why.
Ranging from inbreeding to familial paedophilia, it's unlikely that it could every attain any degree of societal acceptance. Especially in this age of knee-jerk reactionary "I'm offended by everything", spineless, weak, spoiled, venomous, spite filled socially degenerated social media addicts.

On a side note, I was pleasantly surprised when Valve showed some sound common sense, and went in favour of customer choice over censorship.
I can just about buy into Lisa being 18, and even that's stretching it. The whole "military school" thing is a really retarded gimmick, and for the exact reasons you point out.
It has the same graphics quality as BB, so that is a big plus. The big minus is basically everything else. Glamour has basically zero development since 0.1. The author keeps introducing new characters but pays little attention to content for them. To summarize half a year of development of Glamour in one sentence - MC can take a shower while being nude (duh...), and that is about it. The rest of a dozen+ characters are little more than placeholders.

I personally haven't touched it, because to hell with always-on DRM, server side saves, and for receiving updates, especially when it connects to an amateur's server that thinks their Valve/EA/Ubisoft/Activision/Microsoft/Sony etc etc.
