My design was intending to hit the whole spectrum in a dynamic way and to make it so that the zombies/Infected getting their way feels earned while also not being unfair.
The current balance makes it to where it's easy to make sex never occur in a level if you play carefully at all, either you breeze through it with minimal difficulty or you die because you keep getting attacked and your health drops to zero.
With a Resistance stat tied to things like your health (especially to start) or level of infection, that should take care of the second possibility happening too often.
My thinking is a player should be making an honest effort to try to not get sexed, but that the mechanics should still make it wind up being a common occurrence in an average playthrough without feeling too unfair. Like, if sex only occurs when you let it, then it makes me ask "what's the point, then?" But, if sex is completely unavoidable, then I ask the same thing.
Related: I don't understand why they haven't implemented an actual struggle mechanic during sex, yet. They have the button prompt flashing in the same manner, but it's just a toggle, right now.
